A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO HONOR REVEREND JOHNNIE MCLENDON AND FIRST LADY BARBARA MCLENDON AND TO RECOGNIZE THEIR SERVICE AND COMMITMENT TO FISHER HILL COMMUNITY BAPTIST CHURCH OF CHERAW, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina are happy to have the opportunity to recognize the eighth anniversary of Reverend Johnnie McLendon and First Lady Barbara McLendon at Fisher Hill Community Baptist Church in Cheraw, South Carolina; and

Whereas, over the past eight years, Reverend McLendon and his beloved wife not only have been the physical, but also the spiritual leaders of the church; and

Whereas, the McLendons have reached out to the members of their congregation and their local community and have helped so many through their loving counsel and advice; and

Whereas, their commitment to the Lord has guided them faithfully in all that they do, and they are to be commended for their dedication to reaching, teaching, and preaching in the name of Jesus Christ; and

Whereas, Reverend McLendon has given so unselfishly of his time, talents, and considerable energy to the church, and his sermons continue to be moving and inspirational Sunday after Sunday; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly are pleased to pause to commend Reverend and Mrs. McLendon for their distinct and honorable service not only to Fisher Hill Community Baptist Church, but to their fellow man, their fellow community citizens, and their dedicated service to God. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, honor Reverend Johnnie McLendon and First Lady Barbara McLendon and recognize their service and commitment to Fisher Hill Community Baptist Church of Cheraw, South Carolina, and their local community.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Reverend and Mrs. McLendon.
