I.Eligibility:

a. Must be a resident of the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency

b.Studentmustbeahighschoolgraduateor have its equivalency

c. Applicant must have a passing G.P.A.

II.HowtoApplyforScholarship Assistance:

a. Completeapplicationand turn into your Property Management by June 8, 2017 before 4:00 PM.

b.Inadditiontotheinformationrequested bytheapplication,the

 Copyofhighschooltranscript

 Alettersupportingthecharacter,advancements,and achievementsoftheapplicant. Lettermaybefromemployers,ministers,oranyone withknowledge oftheapplicant.

 Ashortessay that describes your Educational/ Career Goals

c. Applicantsmayberequiredtoappearforpersonalinterview.

III.SelectionCriteria:

a. TheFundScholarshipCommittee,consisting whollyofindividuals totallyindependentfromMDHA andtheFundwhoareknowledgeable intheeducationfield,willevaluatethepotentialapplicantsandselect finalistafterreviewingallapplications received. Thefinalselection willbemadebyJune 15, 2017.

b.Selectionofgrantrecipient(s) shallbebasedsolelyuponsubstantial

objectivestandards. These standards mayincludeacademic performance,recommendations frominstructorsor otherindividualsnotrelatedtothepotentialawardees,sourcesandamounts of other grants and awards, and conclusions drawn as to motivation and character.

IV. RecipientsCriteria

a. Themaximumamountofanyscholarshipshallbe$1,000.00.Each scholarshipshallbepaidintwoequalinstallments atthebeginningof twosemesters followingtheaward.

b.Thescholarshiprecipientmustprovideproofoffull-timeenrollment

priortothepaymentofthefirstinstallment.

c. Paymentofthesecond installmentwillbeconditioneduponthe maintenance ofapassinggradepointaverageduringthepriorsemester andfull-timeenrollment. Arecipient’sfailuretomeetthese requirements willresultinthesecond installment’sbeingawardedto therunner-up.

d.Recipientmustenrollinanaccreditedcollege, university or vocational Schoolwithinthe UnitedStates.Thecourseofstudyatsuchcollegesoruniversities shallnotbelimitedto,orconditionedupon,thosethatwouldbeof particularbenefittoMDHAortotheFund.

e. Thetermsofthescholarships andthecourses ofstudyshallbeto enabletherecipientstoobtainaneducationsolelyfortheirpersonal benefit,andshallnotincludeanycommitments,understandingsor obligations,conditionalorunconditional,thatthestudies are undertakenbytherecipientsforthebenefitofMDHA ortheFundor haveastheirobjectivetheaccomplishment benefitofanypurposeof MDHAortheFund.

f. Thescholarship awardwillbeadministered bytheResident

AssociationsofMDHA.

g. Thegrantshallberestrictedtotuitionandfeesrequiredfor enrollmentand/orforbooksandsupplies,butnoroomandboardor otherexpenses.
