AHOUSE RESOLUTION
TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE THE CLINTON HIGH SCHOOL SCIENCE OLYMPIAD TEAM AND ITS COACHES ON CAPTURING THE 2013 SCIENCE OLYMPIAD DIVISION C STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the Clinton High School Science Olympiad team has once again swept to victory at the state championship, marking an impressive fiveyear winning streak at the Newberry Collegehosted event; and
Whereas, with steadfast determination, the thirty team members, fifteen on each of two teams, practiced faithfully almost every Saturday and often several times during the week in order to retain their championship form; and
Whereas, at the statetitle event, the results of their hard work were as clear as their welltrained minds: The Red Devils earned thirteen gold medals and four silver medals.They also earned the right to participate in the national competition in Dayton, Ohio, hosted by Wright State University in May; and
Whereas, the Science Olympiad tournaments on the state level consist of a series of events that cover various disciplines of science, including biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers, and technology; and
Whereas, using his own wellhoned knowledge and scientific skills, Head Coach Michael Mack molded his team into a focused group that brainpowered its way past seventeen other teams to grab the state crown; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in saluting the Clinton High School Science Olympiad team on its latest victory, and the members look with interest toward hearing of the continued success of the team’s fine young scholars. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor and congratulate the Clinton High School Science Olympiad team and its coaches on capturing the 2013 Science Olympiad Division C State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Principal Maureen Tiller and Coach Michael Mack.
