Subject: Respect in Sport and Cochrane Ringette
Like many other sport organizations, Cochrane Ringette has decided to implement the Respect in Sport program for both parents and managers/coaches.
If you have taken the program before with another sports organization, you do NOT need to take it again. Please see instructions below.
Parent Program
Sadly, one of the most common reasons coaches, managers and officials, of all ages, cite for leaving sport is unacceptable parent behaviour.
The parent program will help define a model of behaviour for all parents and create a more rewarding, safe and respectful environment for everyone involved.
The parent program will take approximately 1 hour to complete and one parent from each family will be required to take it. The cost is $12.60. Due date: Oct. 1, 2015.
Please note: After Oct. 1st, players will not be able to play until one parent completes this program.

Manager / Coach Program
Respect in Sport provides critical abuse prevention education within their Activity Leader Program. This easy to use online training enables sport organizations to create a safer, more ethical environment by providing essential information to critical stakeholders.
The manager/coach program will take approximately 3 hours to complete. The cost of $31.50 will be covered by Cochrane Ringette. Please note: The other parent in your household will still be required to take the parent course even if you take or have taken the manager/coach program. Due date: Nov. 1, 2015

Helpful hints
Please use your email address for your username. Please make sure to connect your child/children to your profile. After registration, you can access the program by selecting English. You do not need to do the course in one sitting. The system will remember where you left off.
If you have taken the program with another sport organization, enter your existing certificate number in the box and select Check. Once your profile has been found and loaded, complete the registration and select Submit. Please make sure to connect your child/children to your profile. You can retrieve usernames/passwords and look up your certificate number at the first login screen. Please note that you can only transfer the same program certificate eg. parent to parent and coach to coach.

General Information:
• Respect Group programs run most effectively on traditional PC and MAC computers using any common browser. iOS and Android mobile devices may be used with 3rd party browsers such as the Puffin Browser available via the iStore or the Google Play store. If using Mobile devices, it is recommended you connect via wifi and not a cellular connection as the programs are multimedia in nature.
