Professor Mohammad Shaheen holds a doctoral degree of public health from the University of Pittsburgh-USA and associate professor of public health and currently dean school of public health at AlQuds University. Professor Shaheen is also one of the founding members of the school of public health and one of the founders and the director of Center for Development in Primary Health Care as part of AlQuds University which works on different public and psychosocial health issues implemented at the community level. He is one of the leading pioneers advocating the psychosocial model in public health and a leading scholar in applying this model on the different academic and community health programs. He is also a vice president of Childwatch International (International Research Network) and member of the of the International Journal Editorial Board of Child Rights and Research (IJCRR) which aims at promoting child research globally and regionally. He has many research publications especially in issues related to child health and wellbeing, youth health, nutrition and reproductive health. He is known as one of the leading experts in promoting different models of community-based health and development interventions.

2. Mona Sandbæk

Professor Mona Sandbaek is a senior researcher at NOVA (Norwegian Social Research Center)-Norway and has been working as a partner with Dr Mohammed Shaheen as a Co-coordinator on the NUFU project implemented by the Center for Development in Primary Health Care on different child research projects. She holds a PhD in social work. Her field of research is child and family policy. She has recently worked two years in the human rights organization the Council of Europe with issues regarding children's rights and has been active in promoting child research in the Middle East and North Africa with Childwatch International represented by Professor Mohammed Shaheen as a vice president of Childwatch International.

3. Cairo Arafat,

Ph.D. Psychology, Ohio State University. She works as a director General of Aid Management and Coordination- Ministry of Planning-Occupied Palestinian Territory. Also functioning in the capacity of Director the Child’s Rights Planning Unit within the Ministry of Planning. Her work experience within the OPT has been on children's issues from early childhood development, preschool education, psychosocial programs, social work for children, advocacy and education for children over the last 15 years. She has conducted research in the areas of child well being, violations of rights, children's television viewing, psychosocial well being, early screening of developmental disorders are available upon request. For the last three years I have been given the responsibility of coordinating and managing international aid for Palestine. This includes working within the guidelines and principles of the OECD and Paris Principles.

4. Sturla Falck

Professor Sturla Falck is a senior researcher at NOVA-Norway. He is also research director for one of NOVAs strategic programmes ”Research-based developmental work”. He has a professional background within criminology and has directed numerous research programme within the field of child and welfare research. He has been a long partner in child research and in promoting child research in MENA region.

5. Ziad Abdeen

Holds MPH, PhD. An associate professor and director of Institute of AlQuds Institute of Health and Nutrition Research at AlQuds University. His major research Interests include Relation between nutritional habits and chronic diseases, environmental determinants of Childhood Asthma, molecular and Epidemiological aspects of Cardio-Vascular Complications in Diabetes, Leishmaniasis in the West Bank. Professor Ziad has been active in different child research and one of the main researchers of the NUFU project.

6. Marwan Awartani

Dr. Awartani is the Secretary General of the Universal Education Foundation and a Professor of Mathematics at Al-Quds University. Prof. Awartani is the founding President of the Palestinian Society for Mathematical Sciences, Chairman of the Palestinian Mathematics Olympiad, co-founder of the Network of Palestinian Scientists and Technologists Abroad, and President of Alpha International for Research, Polling and Informatics. He was also the director of the national strategy of science and technology. He also served as chairman of the academic board and managing director of Al-Mustaqbal Educational Foundation.

7. Daniel Kropf

Mr. Kropf was the founding chairman of the Universal Education Foundation (UEF). As a healthcare entrepreneur, he has always pursued a deeper understanding of human dynamics through diverse approaches encompassing tools and methodologies from the western and eastern cultures. Mr. Kropf established, chaired or directed several healthcare businesses including Healthcare Technologies Ltd and the Gamida-For-Life Group. Mr. Kropf is founder of Education for Life; a Dutch foundation dedicated to supporting the values, attitudes and behaviors of caring, responsibility and respect within and between societies. Mr. Kropf is a member of the Board of the Evens Foundation. He serves as the Secretary General of CEJI which promotes a more inclusive Europe through diversity education within formal and informal settings as well as organizes dialogues among cultures and religions throughout Europe.

8. Khuloud Jamal Khayyat Dajani

Assistant Professor of Social Medicine and Health Policy at the School of Medicine and the School of Public Health of AlQuds University. Assistant to the President for the Board of Trustees and Presidency Founding Chairperson, Child Institute for Health, Development and Learning Former Executive President Assistant, Dean of Public Health and Director of International Cooperation. Active in promoting child health and development utilizing the comprehensive health model.

9. Muna Ahmead

Dr Muna Ahmead is assistance professor at both Al-Quds University, School of Public Health and Arab American University/Jenin. She has a Ph.D in mental health from University of Manchester, United Kingdom and master degree in International Public Health from Hebrew University, Hadassah. She is interested in mental health issues and psychotherapy treatment particularly among adolescents.

10. Motasem HAMDAN, Ph.D.

Dr. HAMDAN is an Assist. Prof. at the School of Public Health, Al-Quds University. He was born in 1968 in Palestine and he is a father of two children.

He attained a Ph.D. degree in the Medical and Health Sciences (with focus on health policy) from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium in 2003, and the Masters and Bachelor degrees in Health Services Administration from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey in 1996. He was one of the founders of the School of Public Health, at Al-Quds, and he assumed different managerial tasks since he joined the School in 1998 include being acting dean, dean assistant and currently head of the unit and chair of committee for the Master Programme in Health Policy and Management.

11. Abdel Aziz Mousa Thabet,

Dr Abdel Aziz Mousa Thabet is a Palestinian psychiatrist finished his PhD in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Leicester University-UK in 2003. He is the coordinator of the community mental health program at the graduate school of public health in Gaza. Now he is working as Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry-Al Quds University. He also published a number of studies in trauma and PTSD and 4 books in Arabic language. His main interest in research in trauma and its effect on children and adolescents and management of traumatized children.

12. Muhammad. M. Haj-Yahia

Professor Muhammad M. Haj-Yahia, earned his doctoral degree in social work and family studies from the University of Minnesota, and is currently an associate professor at the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. His research areas include: rates, risk factors, and mental health consequences of violence against women; beliefs of professionals and ordinary people about wife beating; psychological effects of child abuse and neglect; child sexual abuse; children in war areas; mental health consequences of youth exposure to community violence; and the socio-cultural and socio-political contexts of child abuse and wife abuse. He has written and published extensively on these topics in international refereed periodicals and presented his research in tens of international conferences. Dr. Haj-Yahia served for several years as an associate editor of Community Alternatives: International Journal for Family Care and on the editorial board of Stress, Trauma, and Crisis: An International Journal. He has also served on the editorial board of Child Abuse & Neglect: The International Journal and is currently an associate editor of that journal.

13. Abed .M. Assaf

He is an associate professor and chairman of Psychology and Counseling Department, and Coordinator of graduate program in Educational Administration at Anjah National University. Published more than twenty papers, and participated in many Conferences in side and out side the country. Also supervised more than 40 master thesis in Education and Counseling, and have taught different Coursers in Counseling psychology and Educational administration.

14. Sumaya Sayej Biography: RN MSN PhD

She is an assistant professor at Al-Quds University and coordinator of higher studies at the faculty of Health Profession. She also a Child Health and Health Education/promotion specialist and teaches different courses including child health and pediatric nursing, research and health education courses at the under graduates and graduates studies in the Nursing Department/Al-Quds University. She Wrote many manuals in the field of training at the community level and conducted many research studies in the areas of child, youth and women’s health

15. Eyad Hallaq, Ph.D

An assistant professor in Psychology and clinical psychologist , Al-Quds University and director of the Palestinian Center For Traumatic Stress Studies. Coordinator of psychology – Al-Quds University. He had conducted several studies in the field of psychosocial field including research on gender and youth.

16. FELETCIA SAMEER SALEH, MD, MPH

She has an undergraduate degree in medicine, graduated from Russian People's Friendship University in 1998. Involved in the rotating internship for physicians at Al Maqassed Islamic Charitable Hospital. Since 2000 she has been employed by the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) in Ramallah. She joined a university program in the Institute of Community and Public Health ICPH and graduated with a Master Degree in Public Health MPH in 2004 from Birzeit University. For the last four years, she has been working as Director of the Child Health Program, one of the core programs at PMRS.

محامي وناشط في مجال حقوق الإنسان حاصل على درجة الماجستير في القانون من جامعة القدس، عمل كمستشار قانون لعدد من مؤسسات حقوق الإنسان منها مؤسسة الحق والهيئة المستقلة لحقوق المواطن، عضو في اللجنة التنسيقية لشبكة المنظمات الأهلية،ويعمل حاليا مستشارا قانونيا للحركة العالمية للدفاع عن الأطفال- فرع فلسطين وله العديد من المؤلفات في حقوق الإنسان كجرائم الحرب والمسؤولية الإسرائيلية خلال إنتفاضة الأقضى، قضاء الأحداث بين الواقع والقانون، التعذيب حظره ومقاومته، محكمة أمن الدولة الفلسطينية بين الضرورة والمشروعية. وهو عضو لجنة تعديل قانون الطفل الفلسطيني

من مدينة القدس، تعمل كمسؤولة البرامج لدى إنقاذ الطفل السويدية منذ 1999. التحصيل العلمي بكالوريوس اداره أعمال تخصص اقتصاد، بالإضافة إلى خبرات عديدة في التدريب حول حقوق الطفل والمرأة وحقوق الإنسان، المشاركة في أو إنجاز أبحاث مرتكزة على المشاركة والحقوق، تنفيذ برامج مناصرة حول حقوق الطفل الفلسطيني. من أهم الأبحاث: يكبرون تحت منع التجول، الحياة خلف الحواجز، امرأة أم طفلة؟
