Approval and deletion of ITU-T Recommendations

A. 1 By TSB AAP-87 of 16 October 2004, it was announced that the following ITUTRecommendations were approved, in accordance with the procedures outlined in ITU-T Recommendation A.8:

A. 2 By TSB Circular 4 of 25 October 2004, it was announced that the following ITUTRecommendation was deleted, in accordance with the procedures outlined in ITU-T Recommendation A.8 § 8.2, of the WTSA (Montreal, 2000):

– ITU-T Recommendation Q.834.2 (13/04/2001): ATM-PON requirements and managed entities for the network view

The conditions governing the deletion of ITU-T Recommendations were met and 12Member States and 24 Sector Members participating in the meeting of Study Group 4 (Geneva, from 26 April to 7 May 2004) proposed to delete this ITU-T Recommendation. 14 Administrations of Member States responded to the consultation on 30 September 2004, and no objection to this deletion was received.

Maritime Mobile Service

Spain
Communication of 8.XI.2004:

Telefónica de España, S.A.U., announces that, as from 11 November 2004, Madrid Radio coast station will cease to provide a direct watch on any of its public correspondence channels between 2300 – 0700 h (local time).

During this nocturnal period, Madrid Radio, as the short-wave station having official jurisdiction within the maritime area designated by IMO, will remain open and in service through the digital selective calling (DSC) subsystem on 8 and 12 MHz that forms part of the GMDSS.

The above notwithstanding, Madrid Radio will continue to accept essential calls from maritime commercial traffic, whether private or for the radiomedical service, during the said period, provided that such calls are announced by means of the DSC subsystem. Once contact with the vessels has been established within the subsystem, the coast station will switch to the required channel to convey the requested traffic.
