JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title:Technology Project ManagerGrade: 12

Core: Mission Support Core Position Type: Full-Time

Department: MISFLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Community Action Operating Officer EEO Class: 2 (Prof)

Position Summary: Supports SNAP providing leadership, oversight and best practices to support all the deliverables for our Project Atlas technology project through all phases of the project lifecycle. The project manager will plan, execute and finalize our data management system project according to strict deadlines and budget.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Define and document project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  2. Develop and maintain full-scale project plans and associated ongoing communication documents.
  3. Set, manage and effectively communicate project expectations to project team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion to ensure a positive ongoing stakeholder and user engagement.
  4. Exercises discretion to develop solutions, remove obstacles and redefine approaches.
  5. Oversees identification of tasks, dependencies and costs, assigns resources, and communicates expectations to core team members.
  6. Participate in continuous review and update to ensure that processes meet changing business conditions.
  7. Creates/tracks/adjusts the program schedule, budget and scope through defined change management process.
  8. Assesses risks and identifies solutions to timely, efficient achievement of program goals.
  9. Ensures appropriate progress against schedule and takes corrective action as needed.
  10. Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  11. Convenes meetings with appropriate stakeholders as scheduled/needed to ensure effective two way communication and assuring timely progress toward project milestones.
  12. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  13. Participates in meetings regarding the technology update, as required.
  14. Work patiently with coworkers, vendors and volunteers to promote a positive, respectful and productive working environment, while protecting client confidentiality and dignity
  15. Within the context of the stated principles job duties, serve as an ambassador of SNAP’s mission and values
  16. Complete assigned projects and perform related duties as needed or situation dictates
  17. Provide excellent customer service at all times as well as help to grow the customer service culture within the agency

Education and Experience

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or related field with at least 4 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or related field with at least 8 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.AND PMI, PMP or similar certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to empathize with and advocate for low-income and vulnerable people, and to maintain confidentiality with personal information
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques
  • Ability to understand technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment
  • Ability to suggest plans to integrate new and existing processes
  • Possesses knowledge and experience leveraging both IT solutions and business process improvements
  • Ability to provide counsel and leadership on future use of technology and business process improvements. This requires a high level of understanding of the organization’s business systems and processes as well as industry-wide requirements.
  • Must demonstrate expertise in strategic planning, tactical execution, change management, project management, process management and business systems requirements definition.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on effectively working in a team environment and with a diverse population
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with ability to work well independently, with or without supervision
  • Ability to effectively work in an open, fast-paced environment
  • Skills in data management systems, and an ability to conceptualize solutions to complex problems
  • Skilled in Windows Office Suite, Visio, XO project, ASANA Project Manager and other similar project management softwares
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Training and Certifications

  • Ongoing training in significant, relevant fields and topics surrounding information systems and security issues
  • Must have a Driver’s license and be eligible for insurance coverage. Having own vehicle is preferable.

Work Environment/Physical Activities:

A large part of this position is performed in an office setting. Must be able to safely perform physical aspects of the job including lifting up to 50 pounds. This position will also require local travel to work sites. Maybe required to work after hours or on weekends if necessary to accommodate technical and system problems or installation requirements.
