1. GOAL

Members will understand that the Bible is the Word of God and is the highest authority in their lives.

2. CONTENT

2.1 Introduction

Most religions of the world have sacred books as the basis and foundation of their faith. But there is no other religion in the world that boldly claims that its sacred book is the word of God, except for Christianity. Not only is the Bible more than words to teach and tell man what he should do, it has life and power to change man's life.

2.2 Question

2.3 God says that the Bible is His Word and is valuable in every aspect of man's life (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

A. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

B. Psalm 119:11 "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you."

The Word of God helps us to not sin against God and to live a righteous life.

C. Psalm 119:98-99 "Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. 99I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes."

The Word of God makes us wiser than others.

D. Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path."

It gives light and direction to our lives.

E. Jeremiah 15:16 "When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight, for I bear your name, O LORD God Almighty."

God's Word gives us joy and is the delight of our hearts.

F. Deuteronomy 8:3 "He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD."

It is our spiritual food that will make us stronger spiritually.

2.4 Discussion Questions

A. Share with us about a time in your life when you faced a difficult decision you could not make until you found the answer in the Word of God.

B. Give an example of when you were filled with joy from reading or listening to the Word of God.

C. What do you think your attitudes should be towards the Word of God?
