When Col. Steve Austin was seriously injured, after a test flight, Dr. Rudy Wells got his life’s opportunity to create a Bionic Man. The head of the OSO (Office of Strategic Operations), Mr. Spencer, gave Dr. Wells the exact amount of money to re-construct Steve into a Cyborg. Dr. Wells and his staff put Col. Austin under a long series of medical operations, in which bionic limbs were attached to replace the lost ones. Two Bionic legs, one Bionic hand and a Bionic eye, transferred Steve to a powerful Cyborg. Those bionic limbs and parts were all atomic powered by atomic batteries that were a top-secret project of Nasa. These Atomic Type AED-4 batteries were originally constructed to give power to the Apollo Space Capsules. The problem was that in space, these batteries had up to 73.4% power loss due to the lack of gravity. Nasa discarded the use for these batteries and Dr. wells found a new use for them. A bionic use.

The main core of bionics is the connection of organic nerves with machinery and delicate electronic circuitry. In standard medical terms, you cannot connect metallic wires to exposed nerve ends, because the nerves will be ruined and the body’s immune system will attack the wires, like any other foreign object in your body. During his medical experience in Nasa, Dr. Wells found that the body is not rejecting a certain polymeric plastic, which is used to construct windbreakers in planes. Dr. Rudy Wells constructed a tiny cylinder from that polymeric plastic, in which he installed the wires and installed them into Steve’s body. More the 15,516 polymeric coated wires were attached to Steve’s nerves. Each nerve that once transferred orders to his left eye, right arm and both legs, is now attached to a polymeric coated wire. All wires were connected to Steve’s bionic circuitry and Steve’s bionic 8086/2-mainframe computer, which is placed inside Austin’s brain cortex, controls them.

Steve Austin found out pretty quick that his new bionic limbs could produce almost unlimited power. His bionic legs offer Steve the ability to run up to 60mph; to jump high in the air and each leg can produce up to 160 Lb of power to square inch.

Steve’s eye has a 1-20 zoom ratio and ifra-red sensors. His right arm can pick great amounts of weight and produce up to 120 Lb of crushing power to square inch.

All bionic limbs are equipped with Neuro Feedback termination circuitry. It is there job to terminate phantom pains and reduce the impact electric shocks to the brain, when Steve is running, kicking and punching through walls. The Neuro Feedback Termination Circuitry units are also reprogrammed to transfer normal touching sense and heat & cold senses. Steve’s software is based on Basic Ver 3.5 that was invented by Nasa in order to check defected spaceships circuitry.

Prof. Gerry Wells is working for OCP in Detroit. Gerry grew in his grandfather’s labs and got to know everything there is on bionics. His grandfather, Rudy Wells, thought him over the years, the secrets of how to turn humans into Cyborgs. At the age of 45, Gerry became the head of the OCP Security\Electronics lab. Bob Morton, the of Security concepts at OCP, asked Prof. Wells to come up with a backup plan, in case the ED-209 series will fail. Gerry knew it is his chance to create a Cyborg. After the ED-209 had killed one of the executives in last board meeting, Bob Morton saw the chance to push forward his Cyborg program – Robocop. Although Morton went over the head of Jones, the senior executive, the OCP chairman, approved the Robocop program. All they needed is a volunteer.

Clarence Boddicur butchered officer Alex Murphy, during an attempting arrest. Murphy was still alive when they rushed him to the emergency room, but it was too late for him. Despite the doctors’ efforts, Murphy passed away. Late that night, Prof. Gerry Wells got a call from his boss, Morton, to come to the city’s morgue. At 2am Gerry entered the morgue and there he met Bob Morton. Together with the coroner, they took Murphy’s body to the OCP labs, in a freezed container.

The next morning, prof. Wells started his work. Gerry Wells used his grandfather’s methods. The same polymeric plastic was used to create the nerve caps. The method is still the same, but the tools and materials are different. After a few months of work, Robocop was ready. His metallic armored body is the same light but strong metal, Rudy first used to create Steve’s bionic limbs. Robocop’s systems are also powered with atomic batteries but this time it is the AED-6, an advanced series from the AED-4 that were planted in Steve’s bionics. Robocop has also to eat, in order to sustain his organic systems and tissues. Robocop’s circuitry also involved a great amount of Neuro Feedback Termination Circuitry units, not for heat and cold or touching, but for killing the phantom pains and to protect Murphy’s nerves from the voltage current during activity. These units are the same Austin has. Diodes that transfer nerve electrics and pulses, but prevents from direct high current to be transferred from the atomic batteries, directly into the nerve system. Robocop’s mechanical parts are based on Steve’s bionic diagram, but they are a bit powerful then Steve’s bionic units.
