Girls Gala Day
Rhondda Shaw, Penny Howell, Christine Freer, Julie Carey and Ann Meagher will be at Montview to assist on the day. Clubs will approach elite level players attached to their club who might be interested in coming along to hand out a few medals on the day.
Hornsby Heights may be interested to donate a percentage of funds raised from the canteen go to Pink Ribbon fund raiser. An official request will be forwarded to the club.
FINALS
Clarification was given that players need to have played 5 out of the last 7 games to play in a semi and finals. If clubs have any players that have not played 5 out of the last 7 games and they play them in the semis and finals they will be disqualified. If you think you have a player who is in this position please seek clarification or dispensation.
Concerns were raised about the finals series not being played on the dates that had been advertised at the beginning of the season. It was explained that very few games had been played at the previously advertised dates and rather than risk losing the finals due to rain, they will begin the week immediately following the end of the competition.
In the finals 1st place plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd, then the following week (or the same day if there are not enough weeks) the winner of each game plays one another.
Generally the games are played at 12 and 2pm so that there is enough time to play any extra time that may be needed, BUT this can change so teams need to be prepared for changes.
RULES FOR PLAYING UP
Discussion re relaxing the rules for playing up. General feeling is that this would not be a good idea and again disadvantages the smaller clubs who don’t have teams to borrow from.
Competition updates
WAA
No problems in any of the divisions. There was a request that the bottom two teams in div 5 and div 6 play one another in a pennant series as each division has only 6 teams and so a pennant in each could be a tad uninteresting.
Most clubs are still not ready to have squads however it will be looked at again at the beginning of 2010 after team nominations are received.
Clubs happy with the division arrangements this year, teams had a good competitive year.
W35
There was discussion about the possibility of playing in squads next year. The general consensus is that there is still not enough depth in enough of the clubs and that the single team clubs would be disadvantaged, but it will be discussed again at the beginning of next year once the team nominations come in.
GIRLS
There was discussion about whether or not we could introduce playing individual age groups. It was advised that Football NSW determine the structure of the competitions and so is not within our power.

Feedback re Shhh day
Too much paper – waste, all info could have been given to managers not a sheet for each player/parent. Juniors participated twice. Don’t think that KDSA should be doing it, not core function.
Electronic match cards
Discussion about whether or not we will use them. General feeling is that there are plusses and minus’ with them and that we will wait until all of the issues have been dealt with and they work well before we adopt them.
Next meeting 2 November 2009 7pm, venue TBA
If there are any people out there who are interested in taking on a role on the committee next year, specifically Chair, please contact Rhondda Shaw at so that your nomination can go in in time,
