2018 WYBA Local Rules
1. 15 run rule after 4 innings or 3 Y2 innings of play if the Home teams is leading. However
if there's still time on the clock to play, the game is technically over, but for the kids
benefit please allow them to continue to play until time runs out.
2. The following local league options from the 2018 OSI Rule Book will be adhered to:
Darlings Section I paragraph (D) {this rule addresses base running and dead ball rule for pitcher circle}
Darlings Section I paragraph (E) {this rule addresses pitcher placement inside the circle}
Darlings Section I paragraph (H) {this rule addresses baselines}
3. A team must have eight (8) players to start and finish a game. When the time comes for the 9th
batter, it will be an out. If the 9thplayer shows up, she may enter the game without penalty.
4. Game time is 1 hour 15 minutes. There must be at least 5 minutes remaining in regulation to start the
next inning. An inning started will be finished to completion.
5. The umpire is the official timekeeper and will note starting time with each team prior to
the first pitch.
6. Umpires will only allow ONE coach outside the dugout when the team is on defense and
the gate to the dugout gate has to be shut during a game.
7. At game time, a team that has less than the required number of players to play, there will
be a 10 minute grace period before the game starts or is forfeited. This only applies to
the first game of the night.
8. A team may pick up an eligible player that is registered in the league. This team will have
to take a loss unless the other team also has to pick up a player. If a team picks up a
player, the opposing coach must sign beside that players name in the book of the team
picking up the player. The game will still be played!
9. An overthrow when attempting to make an out at first base will result in a dead ball and ALL runners
will advance one base. The overthrow rule doesn't apply to the last batter of the inning. The overthrow
rule only applies to first base.
