1. INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this Host Application is to provide the IWRF with the necessary information to evaluate bids for the 2018 IWRF WorldChampionship Qualification Tournament.

Please provide answersto all the questions in detail in a separate document. Please use the Section headings and question numbers as detailed in this document.

If you are providing additional documentation in support of your application, please attach these to the end of the Application with a list of attached documents.

For information on the Qualification Tournament please refer to the Event Requirements attached to this document.

3. REASONS FOR APPLYING

  1. Please provide a statement outlining the principal motivation for which the applicant organization is seeking to host the 2018 Qualification Tournament.

4. LOCATION

  1. Indicate the proposed Host City and Country.
  1. List the proposed competition and training venues and accommodation facilities, and provide a map showing their locations within the host city.

5. DATES

  1. Indicate the proposed dates for the tournament. Dates must fall between 1March and 30 April 2018:

6. TRANSPORTATION

  1. Provide information on the international ports of entry to access the Host City.

7. ACCOMMODATION

  1. For each proposed accommodation facility, provide the following information:
  1. Name – Provide the name of each accommodation facility.
  2. Category – Specify each accommodation facility’s star rating.
  3. Price Range – Provide the price for each type of room and occupancy at each accommodation facility, including all taxes, indicating currency.
  4. Number of Rooms – Provide the total number of rooms available for each type of room at each accommodation facility.
  5. Number of Accessible Rooms – Provide from the total indicated the number of accessible rooms available for each type of room at each accommodation facility.
  6. Distance – Specify the total distance in kilometers and minutes between each accommodation facility and the main ports of entry, competition venue(s) and training sites

8. COMPETITION VENUE INFORMATION

  1. Provide detailed information about the proposed competition venue including the following information:
  1. Name and address of venue
  2. Number of courts available
  3. Size of courts
  4. Type of playing surface
  5. Height of ceiling at its lowest point above each court
  6. Distance from end line to nearest wall for each court
  7. Distance from sideline to nearest wall for each court
  8. Can court surfaces be marked with required lines for wheelchair rugby
  9. Electronic scoreboards including:
  10. Number of each court
  11. Position on each court
  12. Can each scoreboard displaythe following
  13. Game clock
  14. Running score
  15. Period of play
  16. Direction of alternation position
  17. Time outs taken / remaining
  18. Accessibility of venue for persons in wheelchairs
  19. Number of accessible toilets at the venue
  20. Accessible shower facilities at the venue
  21. Accessible storage for wheelchairs and equipment available at the venue
  22. Distance of venue from the proposed accommodations
  23. Distance of venue from the proposed dining facility
  24. Venue heating and air conditioning
  25. Food service at the venue
  26. Other amenities at the venue that will be available to competitors
  27. Warm-up area for players at the competition venue
  28. Any restrictions on the use of the venues
  29. List and describe the three most recent major events hosted by the venue

9. FOOD SERVICES

  1. Provide a description of food services available including:
  1. Primary dining facilities including location in relation to all proposed venues
  2. Accessibility
  3. Are the any light refreshment or snacks available to purchase at the competition venue and accommodations site

10. MEDICAL SERVICES

  1. Describe medical services being provided during the event including:
  1. First response
  2. Emergency response and care
  3. Pharmacy services
  4. Other team services including massage therapy, physiotherapy, other
  5. Doping Control services

11. COMMUNICATIONS

A. Describe the proposed webcasting services to be provided.

12. PERSONNEL

  1. How many volunteers will be recruited for the event?
  1. What are your plans for volunteer training?
  1. Are volunteers available with previous experience at wheelchair rugby event?
  1. Are volunteers available with previous experience as table officials at wheelchair rugby events?
  1. What percentage of administration and Organizing Committee personnel can communicate in English?
