Complete the 5 activities below in the form of a flip book. Please BE CREATIVE.

  1. Cover/knowledge: Give your flip book a cover. It may be a picture of a character, scene, or object. Be sure to include something representative of your book.
  2. Inside flap/Point of View: A story narrated by one of its characters is in the first person point of view. A story told by a narrator who does not participate in the action is in the third-person point of view. Tell your novel’s point of view. Explain in a sentence or two how you know.
  3. Inside flap/Theme: The theme of a literary work is its underlying message. A theme is a central ideathat an author wants you to take away from the story. Write down the theme of your novel.
  4. Inside flap/Setting: The setting is the time, place, and mood of your novel. Write about the setting in complete sentences. Be specific. Tell why the setting is important to your novel.
  5. Inside flap/Characters: List the main characters and some of their most important traits. Remember to identify the main character or protagonist and his or her opposing force, the antagonist.
  6. Inside flap/Plot: Draw a plot outline (Witch’s Hat). Be sure to use the correct format. The plot consists of the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and the resolution.
