How do you keep the manna falling? God’s blessing…

I. OUR RESTLESSNESS BEFORE THE MANNA 16:1-3

We must see our need before God can meet it.

God takes the physical to produce the spiritual.

  1. Our Placement 1

*We find ourselves in a desert…joy, laughter, dry up. Hopes, dreams, relationshipsdry up.

*They must if God is to show us we can’t live without Him.

*It’s easy to depend on the 12 wells and 70 palm trees.

B. Our Pronouncement 2

The whole congregation murmured…

*Are you murmuring about something physical? It’s an indication you need a

fresh touchfrom God.

*You have taken your eyes off of Jesus and you are living in your own

strength.

*If it were not for the lack, the need, the inadequacy, you would never see how

desperately you need a living God.

C. Our Problem 3

*When we need a fresh touch from God we usually attack, blame others for

our problems.

*Many times we hurt those who love us and help us the most.

*Those who need a fresh touch from God live in the past.

*God did not bring you to this place to destroy you, but to reveal Himself in a

new way.

*God takes the negative and produces the positive.

II. OUR REGULATIONS FOR THE MANNA 16:4-13

It must be done God’s way or it won’t be done.

  1. God’s Revelation 4-5

*God’s revelation is an invitation to become involved in what He is doing.

*You will never know the will of God apart from the Word of God.

B. God’s Reiteration 6-12

It’s God’s way or no way!

Someone just says what God has already said.

  1. Its Purpose
  2. Its Point

Murmuring is against God.

3. Its Power 12

God did exactly what He said He would do. He always does. He always will!

III. OUR RESPONSIBILITY WITH THE MANNA 16:14-21

God does it. God provides, but you must pick it up (v. 16).

  1. It’s Insignificant 14

What God does is hard to grasp.

  1. It’s Incomprehensible 15
  2. It’s Inexhaustible 16, 17

*There is enough for everyone, but you must avail yourself to it or you will starve.

*Obedience…just do what God tells you to do when He tells you to do it.

D. It’s Unexplainable 18-21

*Whether you have a big need or small need He meets you where you are.

*He gives you what you need for today. He gives us nothing for tomorrow.

*I cannot live off yesterday’s manna. I need something fresh from God everyday.

*God’s provisions melt. Why? So I’ll come to Him daily. Depend on Him.

TrustHim to provide what I need for that day…for that situation.

IV. OUR REST AFTER THE MANNA 16:22-31

On the 6th day they gathered enough for the 7th.

  1. The Design of Rest
  2. The Desire of Rest
  3. The Determination of Rest 29
  4. The Danger of Rest 27, 28

*We don’t do what God says when He says it. It’s a matter of faith.

E. The Delight of Rest 30, 31

*God comes through.

*What God gives is good, sweet and pleasant.

*Rest is when we come to the end of ourselves. He does it!

*It’s His not ours. A time to Reflect..time to Rely..time to Rejuvenate..time

to Respond.

V. OUR REMINDER FROM THE MANNA 16:32-36

A. Its Message

*It’s all of grace.

*God does it; we can’t!

B. Its Miracle

*Look back on, but don’t live on the times of refreshing.

C. Its Momentum 35

*God just kept doing it day after day.

*God wants to keep doing it in our lives.

This walk is a daily walk that finally leads us home!
