Mercer County Soil & Water Conservation District

Spring Fish Sale

The Mercer County SWCD is now taking orders for the SpringFish Sale. The Aledo field Office is committed to making available to you the highest quality fish for stocking your farm ponds and lakes at the very lowest of price. Please be aware that you no longer need to provide pond water for transporting your fish. At the pick-up site, the hatchery will place the fish within bags of oxygenated water. This not only provides for greater ease for you, but also increases the survival rates of the fish as they are placed under less stress by this method. It is advisable that you bring five-gallon buckets to place the bags within so that they may travel more securely. Please note: 8-10 inch or larger catfish cannot be bagged due to their spines, so you will need to provide the container and pond water for hauling these size fish. (30 gallons/100 fish) The pick-up date will be April 9, 2013at theMercer County Fairgrounds at 8:00 a.m.
