ARCh Camp Pow Wow is a summer camp for children and adults with disabilities located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. We are the only camp in the area that does not turn campers away based on disability or medical needs. ARCh Camp Pow Wow goals are to enhance the quality of life through outdoor camping experiences that foster independence, relationships, and self-worth. Our program offerings include Arts and Crafts, Music, Recreation, Nature, Waterfront, and Life Skills, also called Activities of Daily Living. We present special guests throughout the summer.
ARCh Camp Pow Wow offers day and residential camp. We provide 5 weeks of day camp, including 3 weeks of kids’ camp for campers age 5 - 21, and 2 weeks of adult camp for campers age 22 and up. For day camp weeks, staff work daily from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
We offer 3 weeks of residential camp, including one week for kids, one week for adults, and one week of “I Can Do It!” transition camp for campers age 15 – 25. Campers and staff stay at camp in accessible platform tents from Monday morning through Friday afternoon.
Depending on your position, duties at camp are not limited to, but include:
• Assisting campers and participating in camp activities
• Encouraging campers to make friends and try new experiences
• Assisting with behavior management
• Personal care assistance, including toileting and feeding, for some but not all campers
• Ensuring camper safety
Our staff comes from all over Wisconsin and beyond. Some are college or high school students, or recent college graduates; others are professionals (teachers, therapists, etc.). All are committed to serving people with disabilities and making camp a fantastic experience!
