CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

EDITOR – INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL WORK JOURNAL

After many years, the current Editor of the Journal, International Social Work, Frank Turner, will complete his distinguished term of office during the next calendar year. We are seeking to appoint his successor as soon as possible to enable the current Editor and the incoming Editor to have a period of handover.

The position of Editor of the Journal will be for a four year term with the possibility of renewal for a maximum further four years. The current Editor looks forward to working with the Editor-elect for a period to facilitate a smooth handover of the Journal. The Editor will be working directly with representatives from SAGE Publications, who publish ISW, and liaise regularly with the three sponsoring organisations, the International Association of Schools of Social Work, the International Council on Social Welfare, and the International Federation of Social Workers.

Applications for the post of Editor of International Social Work are invited from those who are familiar with using computerised information technologies, and have editorial experience, a wide knowledge of the social work literature, and a commitment to the social work values of inclusivity, human rights and social justice. The Editorship is unpaid, but there is provision for secretarial assistance and expenses. Full editorial support services are provided by SAGE Publications.

An Editorial Board and a list of reviewers will also assist the Editor. All applications will be forwarded to the three sponsoring organisations mentioned above.

Each interested candidate should send five copies of his or her letter of application, which should contain a statement of their vision for the Journal, their proposed contributions to its development, and a full curriculum vitae to Leo Walford at SAGE Publications, 1 Oliver’s Yard, 55 City Road, London EC1Y 1SP, England. Applications and questions about the Journal may also be addressed to Leo at the following email address:
