Information for Schengen visa applicants
Ð Visa application has to be presented at the Embassy of the Czech Republic only if the main destination is inside the Czech Republic, in other cases when the applicant will have the first longest stay in the Czech Republic.
Ð The applicant has to submit the visa application in person[1] at the following address:

Office hours for visa applying: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 to 12:00.
Ð Visa fee in Thai bahts only (equivalent of 60 EUR) is paid when the application is submitted.
Ð The applicant has to submit the following documents[2] together with the fully filled in and signed[3] application:
1. Passport valid at least 3 months above the required visa validity, copy of the data page and all the pages containing visas issued during the last 6 months;
2. One colour photo 3.5 to 4.5 cm;
3. Proof of financial means for the trip and stay;
4. Proof of accommodation for the whole stay;
5. Proof of means for return to Thailand (return flight ticket reservation[4]);
6. Other documents confirming the data in the application, especially the declared reason of stay.
7. Letter from the employer.
Ð Documents according to 3 and 4 can be substituted by the official form Invitation confirmed by the Immigration Police of the Czech Republic.
Ð Before issuing the visa it is necessary to provide the proof of travel insurance[5] for the whole of the stay and the paid return flight-ticket.
Ð The length of stay in the Schengen area cannot exceed 90 days in 180 days from the date of the first entry.
Ð The time for decision is 30 days max. from the date of applying, in the case of the family members of EU citizens max. 14 days. (The usual time is 10 days from the applying to issuing the visa.)
Ð The issuance of visas is discretionary. A refusal to issue a visa is final and without appeal. The reason for refusing the visa is given to the applicant in writing.
[1] Except the children under 15, in which cases the parent applies in person.
[2] Family members of EU citizens present only the passport, a photo and the document confirming the relation to the EU citizen together with the application.
[3] Underaged citizens (under 20) have to present the consent of a parent.
[4] Only flight-ticket reservation is submitted when applying. Before issuing the visa the applicant is asked to present the confirmation of the payment of the ticket.
[5] If the insurance is not ensured by another means (e.g. by official Invitation).
