SELECTIONGUIDELINES

THERECIPIENTISSELECTEDBYTHELOCALHIGHSCHOOL.THEFOLLOWINGGUIDELINESARESUGGESTEDINTHESELECTIONOFRECIPIENTS:

1.TheEasternStarScholarshipof$250shouldbeawardedtothehighschoolseniorwhobestexemplifiesgoodcitizenshipandhighmoralcharacter.

2.Whilescholasticstandingandparentalfinancesmaybeconsidered,neitherarethesolecriteriaintheselectionoftherecipient.

3.ItisnottheintentoftheOrderoftheEasternStarthatthesescholarshipsbeawardedexclusivelyorprimarilytorelativesofEasterStarmembersortomemberofMasonicyouthorganizations(Job’sDaughters,RainbowforGirls,andDeMolay).Whilethesestudentsshouldnotbeexcludedfromconsideration,thesescholarshipsareavailabletoallyouthinthecommunity.

4.Thehighschoolmayatitsdiscretionrequestinterestedstudentstosubmitaletterorapplication.(Asampleapplicationisattached).

5.ThenamesofrecipientsmustbesubmittedtothelocalchapterbeforeApril1st.

6.Paymentwillbemadeafterproofof1stsemesterofcollegeisshown.
