Fair vs. Unfair Games

Flip and Spin I

Instructions and Supplies: For this game, you will need a coin, and a spinner. You will need a spinner starting with the number 1, and going up to the number six. Each space on the spinner should be the same size leaving you with a 1/6 chance of landing on any particular number.

1)In order to start this game, you must flip a coin.

2)When you flip the coin, if you get a heads face up, then you will get a chance to spin the spinner. If you did indeed get heads, that means that what ever number you spin, is the amount of money that you will win on that turn. Example. If you spin and land on the number 3, then you will earn a positive $3.00.

3)If you flip the coin, and you end up with tails face up, then you will have to spin the spinner in order to figure out how much money you will owe. Example. If you spin and land on the number 2, then you will owe $2.00.

4)You will continue to flip and spin until you have done so 20 times. At the end you should figure out how much money you have earned, or how much money you owe.

Flipping Wheels of Fortune

Try our wheels of fortune and see how much money you can win!

Step right up and flip a fair coin. If you get heads, continue to the spinner with numbers 0-9. Please take note that each sliver of the spinner is equal. Spin the spinner and the wedge you land on is how much money you receive for your turn.

However, if you flip tails on the fair coin then you go to spin a different spinner. You use the spinner 1-8. Then wedge you land on is how much money you owe for your turn.

Dice and Spinners I

We are going to spin a spinner with ten equal sections numbered 1 through 10 and roll a six sided die numbered 1 through 6. The player will pay a dollar if the quotient is less than one or is a whole number. The player will earn a dollar if the quotient is a mixed number greater than one, but not a whole number.

Single Spin

Use an 8-space spinner. Spin once. Any spin of 1-6 wins $1. Any spin of 7 or 8 loses $3.

Spinners I

You have two spinners, one numbered 1 through 8 and the other numbered 0 through 9.

Objective of the game: Win the most money! 

Directions: Spin both spinners. By spinning doubles, you win $10. If you spin two different numbers, you lose $1.

Dice and Spinners II

The player will roll a six sided die numbered one through six and spin a spinner with ten equal sections numbered one through ten. They will get $3 if the quotient is less than one and they will have to pay if the quotient is equal to or greater than one.

Double Spin

Use an 8-space spinner. Spin twice. Add the results of the two spins. Multiply that result by 3. If your final number is odd, win $1. If your final number is even, lose $1.

“Gimme Yo Money Foo!” I

Objective: The objective of the game is to bank as much money you can while spinning a spinner made up of 4 colored sections, each of the same size, and also spinning a spinner numbered 1 through 6, each number of the same size.

Rules: Player A first spins the colored spinner. If the color green comes up, player A is an instant winner and will then spin the numbered spinner to see just how much is won. If player A spins a 1, they earn $6. If a 2 is spun, they receive $12. A 3 is worth $18, a 4 worth $24, a 5 worth $30 and finally a 6 is worth $36. On the other hand, if player A spins the colored wheel and another number besides green comes up, the player loses $7 and gets to hear the phrase, “Gimme Yo Money Foo! Again”.

The game continues until either the bank or player A is bankrupt.
