ASAP case managers are the quality assurance experts who make Substance Abuse Professional(SAP) cases and related drug free workplace clinical services effective and efficient. A dedicated case manager administers each SAP case from start to finish, links participants to all necessary services and ensures program satisfaction.Case Management Services Include:
1. Coordination of all initial and follow-up substance abuse evaluations with staff or affiliates.
2. Assistance to evaluators providing guidance on DOT rules and individual company protocols at the time of referral process
3. On-going regulatory compliance review with the SAP evaluator during the evaluation process
4. Facilitation of communication between the SAP evaluator, the employer and treatment provider throughout the case
5. Assistance to the employee in getting connected to appropriate insurance compatible treatment/education as recommended by the SAP evaluator.
6. Case management during treatment/education as recommended by the SAP.
7. Provide written documentation to the DER and/or MRO when requested or a violation of DOT or company policy has occurred.
8. Arrange/participate in return to work conference as needed once evaluator establishes the employee’s eligibility to return to work.
9. Consult and assist in arranging or organizing return to work and/or follow-up testing as recommended by the SAP.
10. Consultation on DOT rules and regulations as well as company policy to TPA, EAPs, employer and employees as needed during the term of the case.
11. Aftercare case management of SAP recommended follow-up care and testing as needed
12. Consultation, support tasks or troubleshooting to DER, MRO or other parties involved to resolve complex inquiries throughout the case. Receive consultation from Clinical Director as needed.
13. Utilization reporting as requested.
14. Development and maintenance of records keeping accurate documentation for all ASAP cases.
15. Perform duties in accordance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and according to professional ethics and standards set forth by applicable State and Federal regulating agencies.
16. Attend staff meetings, weekly clinical supervision meetings and staff development workshops.
Education and SKILL requirements
1. A minimum bachelor’s degree in social work, criminal justice or related field.2. Superior clinical and customer service skills, plus demonstrated skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously.
3. A high energy, business-oriented, customer focused individual who can thrive in a fast paced, rapidly evolving work environment.
4. A “can do” attitude with the ability to work efficiently and effectively meeting the performance standards.
5. Excellent telephonic and face-to-face communication skills.
6. Ability to work well with others, accept feedback positively, work under pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments to meet deadlines.
7. Salary Range 33-39K plus bonus structure for exceptional performance
