VetPartners announces new guidebook:

“Veterinary Practice Management Essentials”

The free workbookidentifies best practices for building, managing and growing a successful veterinary business

Kansas City, MO (November 3, 2015) — VetPartners, the leading organization of veterinary practice management consultants, advisors and specialized service providers, is proud to announce the release of their inaugural practice management guidebook, Veterinary Practice Management Essentials.

Using a workbook format, Veterinary Practice Management Essentials provides practice owners and their staffwith an easy way to assess and improve the critical, non-medical aspects of their veterinary businesses. The guide includes checklists for everything from Strategic Planning, Accounting and Human Resources toOperations, Marketing, IT and more.

“At VetPartners, we know how challenging it can be to run a successful practice. When you combine everything you have to do as a business ownerwith everythingit takes to be a successful doctor, it can be incredibly overwhelming,” said VetPartners President Trey Cutler.

“That’s why we created this workbook – we wanted to give great veterinary hospitals a how-to-guide on becoming a great business, too.”

In order to draft the guidelines, VetPartners convened a team of subject matter experts for the various topics outlined in the guide, and developed a consensus on best practices for each. The contributors, all certified experts in their industry, made sure to craft the workbook into a thorough, but practical, tool.

“We have received great feedback from all of the clinics and consultants we’ve previewed the guide with,” said Trey Cutler. “As thorough and comprehensive as it is, we were very deliberate in making sure that it’s easy to use, too.”

In addition to checklists for each business area, Veterinary Practice Management Essentials also includes a list of resources for more in-depth explorations, advice and consulting on specific topics covered in the workbook.

The development and publication of the guide were made possible through a generous educational grant from Partners for Healthy Pets.

“Partners for Healthy Pets was founded to help make sure pets receive the preventive care they deserve through care from the veterinary practice team.” said Dr. Ron DeHaven, Chair of Partners for Healthy Pets and CEO at AVMA. “In order to have healthy pets, we must have healthy, well-run veterinary practices. I encourage every practice owner and practice manager to get this workbook and put it to use in their practice.”

Veterinary Practice Management Essentials was distributed to VetPartner members at the group’s Mid-Year Meeting, which was held in Kansas City on the eve of CVC.

A copy of the workbook is available as a .pdf download on the VetPartners website, It will also be available to veterinarians attending the upcoming North American and Western Veterinary Conferences.
