Introduction
MPH degree is the most widely recognized professional credential for leadership in public health. This program begins with a broad, rigorous core curriculum that will give students a solid foundation of knowledge and skills across disciplines. The MPH program aims to improve the health status of the population, which is to be achieved by providing public health and health care professionals with a high quality training program in public health sciences. The program provides experienced professionals with a thorough grounding in population-based approaches to health sector problem identification, investigation, analysis and managed response.
The MPH program at IM-Sciences prepares individuals with training and experience in diverse fields to apply the public health paradigm as an essential component of their careers. The program opens opportunities to a vast range of health careers. The MPH may be applied to a broad array of population based health concerns. The normal duration of MPH at IM-Sciences covers 4 semesters.
This program is designed for public health leaders who aspire to high-level roles in provincial, national/international health organizations, research and academic institutions, or the private sector. MPH prepares students from diverse backgrounds to become highly effective public health practitioners. The program prepares students to become leading public health professionals capable of addressing current global health problems through multidisciplinary approaches that apply the latest scientific knowledge.
Criterion 1: PROGRAM MISSION, OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES
Each program must have a mission, measurable objectives and expected outcomes for graduates. Outcomes include competency and tasks graduates are expected to perform after completing the program. A strategic plan must be in place to achieve the program objectives. The extent to which these objectives are achieved through continuous assessment and improvements must be demonstrated.

Program Mission
The mission of the Master of Public Health Program at the Institute of Management Sciences is to enable students to develop skills and apply knowledge from multiple disciplines for prevention of disease, promotion of health, and protect the well-being of the diverse population through education, research and service.
· State program objectives. Program educational objectives are intended to be Statements that describe the expected accomplishments of graduates during the first several years following graduation from the program.
Objectives
1. Prepare professionally competent public health practitioners, who will engage in community, government, and professional service to benefit populations.
2. To prepare public health practitioners who can work continually to improve the health of populations by providingservice and consultation to public health agencies and organizations at the local, provincial, national and international level.
3. To equip students with sound knowledge of high-quality collaborative research, so as public health practitioners, they are able to engage in public health research projects that address health concerns, contribute to community health improvement leading to advances and addition to the knowledge base.
4. To build capacity of the existing public health workforce and act as a catalyst for leadership development, continuing education and innovation among the public health workforce in Pakistan and surrounding regions. And to inculcate in them, ethical and culture specific communication skills so they can effectively engage diverse populations and communities.

Standard 1-2: The program must have documented outcomes for graduating students. It must be demonstrated that the outcomes support the program objectives and that graduating students are capable of performing these outcomes.

· Describe the means for assessing the extent to which graduates are performing the stated

Formative assessment throughout the course of study is carried out through written exams, presentations, tutorials, observed structured examinations, role-play, assignments and research reports.

Presently not structured fully, but questioned are asked which are program outcomes specific.
Standard 1-3: The results of program’s assessment and the extent to which they are used to improve the program must be documented.

Criterion 2: CURRICULUM DESIGN AND ORGANIZATION
The curriculum must be designed and organized to achieve the program’s objectives and outcomes. Also course objectives must be in line with program outcomes. The breakdown of the curriculum must satisfy the standards specified in this section. Curriculum standards are specified in terms of credit hours of study. A semester credit hour equals one class hour or two to three laboratory hours per week. The semester is approximately fifteen weeks.

· One semester credit hour is defined as one hour of contact teaching in a class room setting in a week for 16 weeks in a semester. A three credit hour course translates to three hours of teaching in a class room setting per week in a semester.
