Proposal Summary / The previous course (Child Growth & Development) was Pre-birth-age 10-12. With the changes from the Arkansas Dept. of Education, the course must be through adolescence and include learning not just development.
Need for the proposal / With the state licensure area changing from Pre-school-grade 4 to Kindergarten-grade 6, the learning process through adolescence is a necessary change.
Curriculum outline / Prerequisites: None
Course Description: Studies the nature, development, and learning of children up through adolescence.Includes physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development. Prepares students to understand the complex, dynamic process of child development and learning and helps students understand when departures from normal childhood behavior are significant.
