Policies & Code of Conduct
Pride Lacrosse Club (PLC) participants’behavior will reflect positively on the individual, PLC and on our community. The behavior of an individual team member is important to all of us. It is the responsibility of each individual member, coach and volunteer to read and understand the policies and procedures set forth herein. Being a member of PLC is a privilege, not a right.
GENERAL BEHAVIOR POLICY
As a member of the PLCprogram, I agree to:
- Be courteous and respectful at any and all PLC events
- Bare responsibility for my behavior and my actions on the field and in the community
- Win with dignity toward those who lose, lose with respect toward those who win
- Respect teammates, coaches, officials and all others associated with the PLC
- Comply with all PLC policies
- Show respect for all public and private facilities during team travel
- Demonstrate honesty and cooperation with PLCpersonnel during difficult situations
- Show respect for the families and supporters of our opponents
- Maintain communication with the coaches
GENERAL BEHAVIOR PROCEDURE
In the event a member of the PLC violates any of the provisions set forth in the General Behavior Policy the penalty shall be determined by the administration. Each situation is unique and shall be dealt with individually.
UNIFORM POLICY
- Players are required to bring both uniforms (home & away) to every game
- Undershirts – for games and scrimmages only PLCshooter shirts are acceptable
- Cleats are required and must be molded plastic only– metal spikes are not allowed
- Mouth pieces are part of the uniform and required for participation in any lacrosse event
- Athletic Supporters (cups) are part of the uniform and required for participation in any lacrosse event
- Eye black may be worn, but shall be tasteful
- Players are required to wear the approved practice uniform to all team practices
TARDINESS POLICY
Practice, scrimmage and game times are scheduled in advance to accommodate our team members, field permits and our opponent’s access to limited spacing resources. As such, all members are expected to be ready for all events at the scheduled time. Tardiness to practices (without prior notification and coach’s allowance)will be subject todisciplinary action, repeated offenses may result in suspension or dismissal.
ON FIELD BEHAVIOR POLICY
All players represent the PLC when they are on the field. The players are expected to handle themselves in an appropriate manner. For the purposes of the PLC, the field is considered any and all grounds necessary for practice, a scrimmage or a game (i.e. parking lots, rest rooms, concession areas, adjacent buildings, fields, parking facilities or public or private grounds).
- Examples of prohibited on field behavior include:
-Foul, derogatory or demeaning language
-Leaving of any trash on the field
-Reckless driving
-Playing of loud or offensive music
-Confronting any players, coaches, officials or volunteers
-Fighting results in immediate suspension with full penalty to be determined by the administration
-Any action or behavior observed by the coaches, administrators or volunteers deemed inappropriate or detrimental to Pride Lacrosse observed by Coaches or Administrators
-Inappropriate or offensive social media posts
GAME POLICY
Playing time will be determined at the sole discretion of the coaching staff. Position(s) played will be determined at the sole discretion of the coaching staff. Players will be directed, by the coaches,as to the time that they are expected on the field for a game. As a general rule,attendance is required one (1) hour prior to the scheduled start tie for a game and ten (10) minutes prior to the scheduled start time for a practice.
WEATHER POLICY
All practices, scrimmages and games will take place as scheduled unless you receive notification from the coaching staff or administration to the contrary. Please notify the administration ahead of time if a truncated practice due to weather alters a player’s transportation needs.
ALCOHOL/TOBACCO/DRUGS/WEAPONS POLICY
The use or possession of alcohol, tobacco, drugs or weapons at any lacrosse related event will result in immediate suspension. The duration and determination of additional consequences will be made by the administration in conjunction with the coaching staff.
HAZING
Hazing is defined as an action or situation created which, regardless of location, intent, membership status, or consent of the participants,
- Produces, or is reasonably likely to produce bodily harm or danger, mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, fright, humiliation, intimidation, degradation, or ridicule, or otherwise comprises the dignity of an individual;
- Compels an individual to participate in any activity which is unlawful, perverse, publicly indecent, contrary to the rules, policies, and regulations of Pride Lacrosse and/or their respective schools, or which is known by the compelling person to be contrary to an individual’s genuine moral beliefs;
- Will, unreasonably or unusually, impair an individual’s academic efforts.
SCHOOL STATUS
Any player that is suspended from school will also be suspended from the PLC. All players must be enrolled and a student in good standingin order to maintain an active roster spot. As students and members of PLC, you are a student first and lacrosse player second.
ABSENCE
The success of a team is based on your ability to practice & play as a team. All absences are to be communicated with your coaches prior to the scheduled event.
I understand that my actions may affect my ability to participate in any activities associated with Pride Lacrosse and if I do not adhere to the above guidelines, disciplinary actions may occur. I have read and understand the above Pride Lacrosse Team Rules & Code of Conduct.
