Colleges & Careers Presentation Assignment

o  Choose a trade school, division of the armed forces, college, or career that you are interested in learning more about.

o  Using the Internet, find out as much as you can about your choice. This is NOT meant to be a firm choice of what you want to do nor where you want to go, but rather a first look at the reality of such a path. After doing all of this research, you may very well discover that it is, in fact, NOT what you will want to pursue, and that too is a very valuable thing to have revealed to yourself AND to share with your peers! Hopefully this is the first of MANY searches you will do on your own.

o  Your presentation should NOT be persuasive. Your aim is not to convince everyone that it is a great career path or school, but simply to teach us what you learned by researching it and the important aspects of this topic. Please share your thoughts on whether it still interests you or not…and WHY.

o  Create an attractive, easy-to-view, informational Google Slides slideshow that will support an informative speech about your chosen topic of study. Your audience is: your peers, teachers, parents, and school administrators. Both your speech and slideshow should be well-organized, accurate, and thorough.

o  You must sign up with your teacher for your topic. No two students in any one class will be allowed to present on the same topic.

o  You will have 6 class periods in school computer labs to complete this. You must turn in your final slideshow by “sharing” it with your LA teacher. You MUST label the file using this format:

per# - group# First Last (Ex: 4-2 Fred Flintstone)

o  Please invite your parents, guardians, and other important people in your life to attend your group’s presentation. You will be given invitations after date sign-up.
