Activity / Description of Activities and Setting / Materials and Time
I. Focus and Review (Establish prior knowledge) / Students have previously viewed PowerPoints and discussed these religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism.
Tell students that we will learn more about these religions from a historical perspective. We are not saying that any one is right or wrong. We will compare and contrast Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism. / Teacher-10 minutes
II. Statement (Inform student of objectives) / We will learn how these religions are alike and how they are different. Students will create AliceWorlds explaining these religions. They will present these to their class. Students have previously learned how to use Alice programming. / Religion chart:

III. Teacher Input (Present tasks, information, and guidance) / Teacher will project chart on the SmartBoard. Students will read and discuss the information.
Students will be given a digital copy of the religion chart on Edmodo, or use the site address / SmartBoard

IV. Guided Practice (Elicit performance, provide assessment and feedback) / Teacher will divide students into 6 groups and give instructions for each group to make an Alice World with questions and answers about theirassigned religion. / Teacher

V. Independent Practice -- Seatwork and Homework (Retention and transfer) / Students will work in groups to make the AliceWorlds of questions and answers about their assigned religion.
(Students have prior experience with Alice- Worlds.) / Alice 2.2 program

VI. Closure (Plan for maintenance) / Students will present their religion AliceWorld on the SmartBoard with interactions from class.
Class will take notes.
Followed by an assessment on Quia. / SmartBoard
