Community Housing Fund
Congratulations on your recent appointment as Minister of State for Housing.I’m writing to you as [your constituent/a community-led housing group] to welcome the much-anticipated Community Housing Fund and to urge its immediate launch.
Briefly set out your community-led housing project, where you have got to and how key the Community Housing Fund is to it. Just so you know, the Community Housing Fund will consist of revenue and capital grants to groups as well as support for a national network of local enablers and the national infrastructure. Outline whether you’d be bidding for capital or revenue (or both) and what it would achieve. The £300m Community Housing Fund is critical to the success of our project [amend if already set out in para].
We are part of a national movement of hundreds of local people building, renovating and managing homes up and down the country. Our community land trusts, co-operatives, cohousing and self-help groups are not only helping to address the housing crisis, but also revitalising local neighbourhoods and giving control back to communities. Together, with the investment of the Community Housing Fund, we willdeliver at least 10,000 additional homes over the next four years.
We are ready and waiting to deliver homes for local people and look forwards to helping ensure the Fund is a success. We urge that the Fund is now launched at the earliest opportunity.
