CLAY: Clay as a Creative Medium Linda and Jim Winegar
Monday, January 11, 18, 25, February 1, 8
Five week course
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Cost: $100.00
This course will introduce the medium of clay and its many potentials, including basic techniques of hand building, including pinch pots, slab building and coiling.
Jim and Linda Winegar have been working professionally with clay for 35+ years. They have marketed their pottery across the country and have their own Winegar Pottery studio in Greene County. They are members of the Craftsmen’s Guild of Pittsburgh and the PA Guild of Craftsmen.
LANDSCAPE DESIGN Jeffrey Moyer

This class will focus on the fundamental elements of design, including compositional principles, styles, techniques and materials. Class participants will be encouraged to develop a landscape plan of their
own choosing before the class is concluded.
Jeff Moyer is a local artist and landscape designer. He has designed numerous residential, commercial and public projects. Jeff has taught Landscape Design for over a decade and has been a presenter in the Master Gardener Lecture series as well as a guest host on the WTAE Talk radio gardening show.
DRAWING: Beginner and Intermediate Dave Lesako

This course will cover basic elements and techniques of pencil drawing/sketching, including still life, buildings and landscapes.
Dave is a professional artist and has taught in all levels of education for over 30 years.
GENEALOGY FOR BEGINNERS Pam Brown

This workshop will assist students in building their family tree. Students will be introduced to various internet, local and archival resources as well as forms, styles and record-keeping methods related to genealogy.
Pam Brown has 30 years of experience in genealogy research and is a board member of the Fayette County Genealogical Society. Pam has previously taught Beginners Genealogy.

This course will provide information on foundation grants, residencies, and galleries that can potentially yield a financial return for the artist. Guest speakers include the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, foundations that fund individual artists, and gallery reps.
Darlene Urban Garrett has a Master's degree in Public Administration. Her 30 years of community development experience have been dedicated to building on a community's assets and engaging the full capacities of a community to create the changes they desire.
TRADE-MARKING: Protecting Your Intellectual Creations Lori Paletta-Davis

This workshop will explore current, fundamental methods to protect intellectual property creations-of all varieties. Participants are encouraged to bring their “real world” needs and scenarios as they will serve as the basis for some hands-on instruction.
Lori Paletta-Davis is a practicing attorney and has spent the bulk of her career working with business. She is a seasoned corporate counsel with experience in a broad range of legal matters. The law of “creative people” is an area of great interest and exploration in Lori’s professional and personal life.

This class will examine a business plan, with focus on goals, mission, resources, problems and opportunities. Any business owner or prospective business owner will benefit from this introduction to business plans.
Becky is a local artist with a dual degree in Business Administration and Art. Becky operates her own Waynesburg business, “Pocketsize Productions”, and has worked in the business field for over 8 years.
