Custom Products Specialist

Job Summary
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager the Custom Products Specialist has primary responsibility for growing sales of custom products throughout the Colony branch system. Is expected to identify new opportunities for the custom products business and to educate the branch personnel on the breadth of products available and the opportunities for increasing the sale of those products. Will work closely with the Marketing Department and will be the liaison between outside sales, vendors, purchasing and the customer.
Major Responsibilities:
· Will respond to all inquiries regarding any issues related to the creation, quotation, ordering and delivery of all custom logo products.
· Has primary responsibility for all administrative tasks related to the delivery of the finished custom product.
· Delivers pricing quotes to customer and demonstrates excellent follow up to make sure that we secure the business.
· Creates a purchase order and makes sure they get to the vendor in a timely manner.
· Tracks customer product usage through Outlook and looks for opportunities for replenishment orders.
· Reviews manufacturers proofs for accuracy and enlists aid of Marketing for graphic design support.
· Educates branches on the availability of products and the best practices for increasing sales
· Identifies new opportunities for custom products.
· Partners with the inside and outside sales teams to follow up on leads and referrals.
· Uses organizational and time management skills to facilitate the entire order cycle from quote to order fulfillment.
· Utilize our vendor/supplier representatives on a consistent basis to get latest product information and promotions.
· May use Phocas sales analytics tool to identify opportunities for growth.
· Develops a strong and positive working relationship with the inside and outside sales teams and vendors.
· Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in following up on quotes and leads.
· Takes the initiative to intercede and resolve issues related to problems with orders.
· Demonstrates the ability to do group presentations of products for prospective customers or internal training.
· Standardizes the quotation, order tracking process for custom logo products
· Creates and maintains database of customer logos and proofs.
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent. College degree in Business discipline preferred.
· Graphic art background and prior experience with Adobe Suite a plus
· Valid driver’s license. Driver’s record must show a record of sustained safe driving.
· Excellent communication skills including speaking, reading and writing in the English language.
· Proficiency in use of computer include all Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
Essential functions:
· Physical dexterity for use of computer and demo equipment
· Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
· Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents
· Analytical ability including basic math skills
· Ability to listen to and interpret customers needs
· Communication skills including speaking, reading and writing

· Demo equipment from vendors
Additional Comments:
Must be able to travel long distances to meetings, seminars, training sessions and customer calls. May also require occasional overnight trips.
