TOPIC: EAST VIEW FOOTBALL
All four subvarsity teams were in action last night against Leander.
The 9th Grade Red team picked up the victory, 44-6. Outstanding players of the game were Jordan Kuglin on offense, AJ Mays and Kris Honstein on defense, and Davhoun Little on special steams.
The 9th Grade Navy outstanding performers were Rudy Dehoyos on offense, Jordan Espinoza on defense, and Alexis Gomez on special teams.
For the JV Navy, outstanding performers were Eddie Cavasos on offense, Christian Cavasos and Noah Henry on defense, and Christian Hernandez on special teams.
The JV Red standouts were Jaden Selucky and Brandon Lopez on offense, Adam Salazar on defense, and Keldon Boswell on special teams.
These freshmen will be at Cedar Park and the JVs will host Cedar Park next Thursday.

www.georgetownisdtickets.com. Online tickets are available until 5:00 PM on game day. There is a $1.50 transaction fee per ticket, but it will keep you from having to wait in line to purchase your ticket at the game.
TOPIC: EAST VIEW SOCCER
If you missed the last one – and most of you did – the next one is finally HERE! The next meeting of the East View Soccer Booster Club will be held on Monday, 10/26 at 6PM, in the East View Lecture Hall. All parents, players and soccer fans are encouraged to attend. We’ll discuss status of the club, events calendar and preparations for this year’s activities. Volunteers are URGENTLY needed. Guaranteed to be crazy fun, or your money back.
TOPIC: YEAR BOOK
Next Friday, October 30 is your last chance to get this year’s yearbook for the lowest price all year. This year’s book will only cost you $50 if you act now! You don’t want to miss out on our biggest yearbook yet- it’s a bigger book size and it has more pages than last year. Order online or submit an order form to room 128.
TOPIC: EATING AT BURGER UNIVERSITY
Eating at Burger University is the EXCELLENT thing to do next Tuesday, Oct. 27. Come have a great hamburger and support EVHS Academic Excellence. This organization recognizes academic accomplishments in all students and honors those in the top 10% academically. Join us for this fundraiser Tuesday, Oct. 27 between 5:00 and 8:00.
TOPIC: SERVICE HOURS
Hey seniors, Sierra Beckstrom and Payden Claymen have completed their service hours. Have you? Check the updated list outside Mrs. Ray’s room on the English hall to see how many hours you have completed. Remember, evaluation forms can be found on the senior service link on the right hand side of the EVHS website. Print them out and return them to Mrs. Scholtz or Mrs. Ray on the English hall.
TOPIC: STUDENT COUNCIL
Student Council officers will meet Monday morning at 8:00 in room 207. All council members and officers will meet after school Monday in room 207. Meet starts at 4:00--be there and be on time!
Red Ribbon Week: Next week is Red Ribbon Week--a national movement to promote healthy, drug-free lives for teens. Each day we will have an anti-drug theme. See posters around school for the complete list. Monday is "Put a Cap on Drugs"--wear a hat and show your commitment to being drug-free!
Wednesday, we invite you to stay for a few minutes after school and "plant the promise" to be drug-free by planting red poppy seeds on East View's front lawn. We will meet at the front doors at 4:00--See you there!
Zombie Run: Want to practice your survival skills for the possibility of a zombie apocalypse? Want to test your abilities to outrun the un-dead? Well, you're in luck! Next weekend, East View will be hosting its second Zombie Run 5K. Student cost to register is only $10! Check out the link on the EV Homepage! We are also taking applications for students interested in being zombies--see Miss Browning in room 207!
TOPIC: ACC CAREER AND EXPLORATION DAY
ACC will be hosting an ACC Major and Career Exploration Day at the new ACC Highland Mall Campus Today. The event is free to all and a great opportunity for students to meet with department faculty and experts in the various ACC programs.Please go by the counseling department for more information if you interested in attending this event.
TOPIC: EV PATRIOT PLAYERS WILL BE PRESENTING “DEATHS EMPORIUM OF WONDERS “
This is a fun variety show of Halloween entertainment!It will be held in the Black Box on Monday, October 26at 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:30 pm
General admission is $5.00
Student admission is $3.00
Also, the entire cast of Wizard of Oz will be called for rehearsal next Wednesday, October 28th in the Theater.
TOPIC: EAST VIEW PATRIOT VOLLEYBALL
The East View Patriot Volleyball program has chosen The Georgetown Projects NEST Empowerment Center as their service project. The NEST offers a safe haven for high school teens that are in need of free resources such as evening meals, a quiet place and help for daily homework, test prep, counseling, job readiness training, college prep and other support services. The NEST is located at 2201 Old Airport Road. Patriot Volleyball will be collecting the following items at those matches on October 23rd, and 27th.
NEST wish list:
· Chef Boyardee products, Cans of soup
· Cases of 8oz bottles of water
· Snacks such as granola bars, trail mix, & Hot cocoa
· Board games, Puzzles
· Halloween masks/costumes/decorations

TOPIC: SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
The Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ premier scholarship program. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. It is open to 9th -12th graders. The deadline to enter is: October 30th.Please go by the counseling office to pick up an application.
Central Texas Association of Environmental Professionals is pleased to offer 2 scholarships. Applicants would be applying to a program focused on environmentally related issues, such as Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Anthropology, Biology, Biochemistry or Geology. Please go to CTAEP.org to apply on-line. The deadline is December 7th.
The chapters of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers in affiliation with Texas Engineering Foundation will award scholarships to students studying to become engineers in an engineering program at an accredited college or university. Please come by the counseling office for eligibility information and the application. The deadline to apply is: January 8, 2016
Ronald McDonald’s charity is offering the RMHC U.S. Scholarship Program for students who are exemplary role models in their communities and have the initiative to fulfill their educational goals.
