The most notable Colombian cartoonist was born in Rionegro- Antioquia (1894-1931) called “The emperor” of Cartoon he was one of the most insightful and fine Latin-American comedians of the twentieth century, in his work humor was satire.
He was specially known for his political cartoons. His cartoons were real x-rays of the events and the individuals. He was the pioneer of graphic publicity in Colombia.

The festival, supported by Mayors office, has paid tribute to Ricardo Rendón Bravo for 24 years, the only one in the country because of its history and commitment has allowed us to perceive the work of authors from over 90 countries, authors of changes and experiences in the towns that contribute to human growth.
His cheerful thoughts and universal language achieved the dream of getting rid of territorial boundaries that have forbidden us to live in harmony and visualize happiness and freedom as a principal of peace and coexistence.
REQUIREMENTS:
1)The contest is opened to all the cartoonist in the world
2)The last day to participate is SaturdayNovember18th, 2017
3)There are THREE categories:
*LIFE and its value: Nothing should be valued more than human life, it is unique and valuable in its own way. Life is the primary human worth in relation with: ourselves, others, social structures, family, school, the community, the environment and its importance.
The plague of depression, anxiety, all psychological disorders and even suicide has shaken the,misnamed, “consumer society”. This is a calling to reflect about appreciating life and what we truly need is a real and joyful adventure.
We invite all the cartoonist of the world to use their creativity as a contribution to the use of humor in the reflection.

4)Each participant can send up to three cartoons per category.
5)You may participate with cartoons in black and white or color.
6)The cartoons must be up to 30 x 40 centimeters.
7)You may participate with cartoons that have already been published or awarded before. All cartoons must be originals (handmade), we will not accept printings, photographs, copies, etc. and the candidate is responsible of shipping.
9)The selected cartoonist will receive a virtual catalog.
10) The judges will be Colombian and foreign.
11) The results will be announced on December 2017.
12) Candidates must send a brief curriculum vitae (CV) and a picture next to its works.
13)The back of each cartoon must have: name and last names, address, telephone number and country of origin.
14)All cartoons submitted to the contest will NOT be returned, they will be a part of the future “Rionegro Art Museum”, in agreement with Cartoonrendon.
15)With filling out and submitting the application, it implies that the contestants accept and authorize Cartoonrendon and the Mayor’s office in Rionegro to publicize the cartoon or cartoons or its printed media, representations and re-productions in audio and video devices with all the legal rights, including the transferring of these rights to a third party without a limitation of time, place and number of times it can be published; aside from that Cartoonrendon and/or Rionegro’sMayor’s office will have the right to exhibit, archive, publish in internet or other possible platforms not mentioned here, said cartoons without a limit of time. By submitting the application of participation, it is considered that these rights are delegated to Cartoonrendon, its representative and/or Rionegro’sMayor’s office.
16)The organization reserves its right of exhibiting those works that could go against individual and collective rights.
Participating in the contest imposes accepting totally and without reserve these conditions.
THE AWARDS: These are subject to taxes and tax regulations and will be paid at the markets representatives rate (TRM)

3)FREE Theme Award- 500 USD
The festival will happen in the City Santiago de Arma de Rionegro the days 22 to 27 of November 2017.
