Information for Hostel Groups

We welcome you to God’s House and our nation’s capitol. Only a few blocks from Capitol Hill and the Mall and most of the Smithsonian Museums. First Trinity is also within walking distance of China Town and is situated at Judiciary Square Metro Stop (Red Line).

When using church facilities, you are agreeing to the following:

1.  Coordinating your arrival time is important: ARRIVAL TIMES MUST BE BETWEEN 9:00AM- 7:00PM. PLEASE BE SPECIFIC IN NOTING YOUR ARRIVAL TIME. A staff person must meet you and provide the orientation upon your arrival. A late fee of $50 will be levied for any group arriving more than 90 minutes after the scheduled arrival time. Arrival time may be changed 24 hours in advance without incurring a late fee.

2.  Bring your own sleeping bags, or other bedding. We have mattresses.

3.  Kitchen use. Groups staying at First Trinity may use the kitchen unless it is scheduled for church use.

Groups must purchase their own food. Cooking utensils, pot, dishes, and silverware are available for your use. You are responsible for cleaning the kitchen after each use. Dirty dishes are not allow to remain in the kitchen sink or on counter tops. On Sunday the kitchen must be cleaned up by 10:00 Sunday for use by church groups. If the kitchen is not properly cleaned after each use, you forfeit your initial $200 deposit.

The largest nearby grocery store is Safeway located at 5th & K Streets NW, approximately 5 blocks away, and within walking distance.

First Trinity has a restaurant on the corner of 3rd and E Streets called New Course Restaurant.. They are open weekdays between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. Burger King and McDonalds are within walking distance.

4.  Since this is a multi-use facility, members of your group should be respectful of other organizations using the building. Groups must have all their belongings secured and the Hall clean each morning. Use of the building other than your Hostel stay must be coordinated in advance.

5.  All restrooms and showers must be kept clean. No personal effects should be left in them.

6.  We ask that you be conservative with the utilities: water, light, heat, air conditioning, etc. Only local telephone calls can be made on the hostel telephone. The hostel (kitchen) telephone number is (202) 737-4859 ext. 608.

7.  Keys are provided and must be returned when you leave. Security is important! The building MUST be kept locked at all times. Never prop outside doors open. (Please note: the Sanctuary is open Monday-Friday for prayer and meditation from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.)

8.  Luggage MUST be secured during the day in designated areas. First Trinity Church is not responsible for personal items left in the building or theft.

9.  Volunteer opportunities may be available. Please talk to our hostel coordinator about Volunteer opportunities.

10.  Your fee per person/night is: Total Hostel Payment must be made before arrival.

·  $27 for groups from 5-10

·  $22 for groups from 11-20

·  $18 for groups from 21 or more

11.  No refunds can be given if you leave earlier than your stated reservation dates.

12.  Absolutely no smoking or alcohol is permitted.

13.  The nearest emergency center is George Washington Hospital located at 801 22nd Street, NW. In case of emergency, call 911.

14.  If you are here on a Sunday morning, you are cordially invited to join us in Bible Class and Worship. The Trinity Church schedule is as follows:

9:30 a.m. Sunday School & Bible Class (Fellowship Hall)

10:30 a.m. FTLC Worship Service (Sanctuary)

Meetings and/or special event will be noted on the building use schedule.

15.  Parking by the church during the week is near impossible, but ample spaces are available evening after 10:00p.m. and weekends. There are two parking garages within one block of the church. Open 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. @ $9.00/day or an hourly rate. They are not able to accommodate vans. Altman’s surface parking lot at 4th and K Streets NW, $7 all day. Franklin surface parking 5th and K Street NW, $9 all day. Tour buses must park at Union Station, 8 blocks away. Union Station Parking Rates: Cars: Open 24/7 $19 per day. Bus 7am-7pm $20 per day; 7:pm- 7:am $10 per day.

16.  Free wireless internet is available for groups who bring their laptop computers. When you arrive you need to ask for the password.

17.  Refund partial deposit will not be returned until the final payment is received.
