Sustainable Development of Tourism in Chiangnmai province.

[Purposes of Research]

Tourism is one of the main industry in Chiangnmai, and it makes big contribution to development of economic development. But tourism is not sustainable only to preserve economic benefit. Tourism is depending on local culture, environment and society. Therefore, tourism development should respect these aspects.

And this research will focus on local community, who are not only getting benefits from tourism but also getting bad impacts from it. This Research will focus on applying the concept of sustainable tourism for them by using 5 aspects, which are economy, social, culture, environment and policies.

How to achieve sustainable tourism development in Chiangmai province for local community.

[Sub Research Question]

1. How does tourism industry improve the economy of the community in a sustainable way?

2. What is the role of young generation in sustainable development of tourism?

3. How do local community place importance on their own culture? What are the reasons?

4. How do local community value the environment and local resources?

5. What are the policies and strategies pursued by various stakeholders, mainly government, private sector, and local community in achieving sustainable development of tourism?

Night Bazaar, Sunday Evening Walking Street, Lanna Wisdom School, Kan-tok Restaurant.

4) Younger Generation Issues to Pursue

We will research how youth involves in tourism development for local community.

5) Local Resources & Culture Issues to Pursue

Local resources and culture are important for tourism. We will research whether these are sustainable or not for tourism development?

6) Rural-Urban Links to Pursue

Many sites are at rural area. So we think there is a rural-urban links.
