CALL FOR PAPERS

Annual Meeting of NONIE

Bonn, Germany

March 29-30, 2010

The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation & Development, in cooperation with the German Development Institute, is organizing the annual meeting of NONIE (Network of Networks of Impact Evaluation). According to NONIE’s mandate the conference will focus upon rigorous impact evaluation and is targeted towards evaluation departments of donor agencies, representatives from partner countries (IOCE, M&E units of ministries), and researchers assessing development interventions. It aims to contribute to the ongoing discussion on the quantitative techniques of evaluating development interventions.

SCOPE

The first day of the conference will cover presentations of impact evaluations open to all themes and sectors. Evaluations should follow a mixed methods approach implying the existence of rigorous quantitative elements in the design and implementation of the evaluation. The second day will focus on the potentials and challenges for rigorous impact evaluation in the field of governance, decentralization and post- conflict settings.

The organizers invite submissions on these issues from NONIE members, M&E units of partner country ministries as well as researchers and third parties recommended by NONIE members who have conducted and/or managed impact evaluation of development interventions. Submissions of sufficiently advanced ongoing impact evaluations are also encouraged.
