- Schedule Changes and Announcements: Championship time is here!!! The Mary Lou Mini Meet for our Hawks, A-1 & A-2 groups and the H.S. Championship Tournaments (Sectional, Districts and State) start this week!! Good luck to all of our Seahawks!

Friday, February 8th 5:10-6:30 am off pm H.S. Sectionals (Boys-optional Loosen up)

**Note: No UC PM practice on these days due to H.S. Sect. & Dist. meets.
- Sunday Loosen Up: Sunday, Feb 10th from 3:00-4:45. All Sr/ Nat group swimmers should attend.
- UC Flex Time Starts Later: Flex at UC will begin at 4:50 pm (15 min. later) on all Monday and Wednesday practices. This is due to the reduction in dryland training as we approach taper time.
- Individual Taper Plans: An email outlining individual taper plans went out Sunday, February 3rd. Please pay close attention to your ending times, as well as your weight training status.
- Practice Announcements for T2/T1 Groups: We will run a maintenance/technique practicethis Sunday, Feb 10TH from 1:00-3:15 with a very special guest!
- When is My Season Over?: All CAC swimmers are finished practicing after completion of their last Championship meet(i.e. Mary Lou, Regionals, JO, Seniors, etc.). The coaches congratulate you on your outstanding progress this Short Course season and look forward to seeing you all after the break for Long Course. Go Seahawks!!!
- Spring/Summer Long Course Sign-ups: We are delighted to hear that several of our A-1 and A-2 swimmers who signed up for the winter-only (Short Course) season have asked what they need to do to continue in the Spring/Summer season. It is only $100.00 to continue through the summer….what a great deal!! Please contact our Registration Coordinator Karen McGoff at if you are interested in joining us for the summer season.We would love to see our A-1 and A-2 groups continue to grow and progress!!
**A Note for our Hawk Swimmers: Coach Kim will be sending out information on the Spring/Summer Hawk’s programming in the next few weeks.
- Ohio Senior Championship Team: Information on the highly anticipated Ohio Senior Championship (just 4 weeks away!!!), held this year at Miami University from March 1-3, will be coming out this week. This is our last chance to swim short course yards and is a full-effort Championship meet with all of our 15 And Over swimmers competing in this 3-day event. The coaching staff will be talking with each of these athletes about their event line-up this week. This meet is a requiredChampionship meet. Go Hawks!!!
- Regional Pasta Party: This annual event is tentatively schedule for Wednesday, February 13th in the CCDS cafeteria from 5:45-7:00 PM. All swimmers who are attending Regionals should attend. The adjusted practice schedule is as follows:
T-1 & T-2:Practice ---4:15- 5:30 pm
A-2, A-3 (A-1’s attending Regional Meet):Practice---7:00-8:15 pm
**Transition JO Swimmers NOT going to Regionals will have dryland 4:15-5:30 &
swim 5:30-7:00 pm.

- Fee Update—New Swimmer Referral Credits:A Message from our Fees Coordinator Emily Seger for those of you due referral credits: Because I did not receive the list of families who have earned New Swimmer Referral Credits for the 2012-13 swim season, I was unable to apply these credits to the February invoices. I anticipate receiving this list in February and will apply these credits to the March invoices. Apologies for the inconvenience and many thanks for your patience. - Swim-A-Thon Wrap Up, Raffle and Prizes: Congratulations to Andrew Devine for being this year’s top fundraiser! Andrew will receive an Olympic t-shirt autographed by Olympian and former CAC swimmer, Nick Thoman! For Seahawk swimmers who raised at least $200, check family folders or with Erin Starkey for Seahawk sportswear prizes.The drawing for Raffle Baskets will be held Saturday, February 9 at 12:15 pm.Instructions for the Raffle are as follows:
- Raffle Tickets are in family folders at CCDS. The number of tickets you have received is based on the number of dollars each swimmer/family raised.
- Tickets have 2 halves with the same number at the top. Write your name / phone # on 1 half of each ticket and use the other half to make your choice of baskets.
- A poster with a paper bag for each basket is on the pool deck. Place ticket halves with your name / phone # in the bags that correspond to the baskets you want chances to win. Keep the other half of each ticket.
- The poster will be at the pool all week. You may put your tickets in ANY of the bags any time before the drawing.
- The actual gift baskets will be at the pool on Fri-Sat Feb 8-9 if you would like to see them again before choosing which ones you would like to try and win.
- You need not be present to win, but you can take any basket you win if you are here

- Gearing up for Championships:The coaching staff is very excited about our upcoming Championship meets! It is important that we keep practice a priority during this important time.
