Class Title:Student Clerical and Admin SupportPay Rate: $8.50 Status: Work-Study Required.

No. of Openings: 1 Job Begins: late October or early November 2012Job Ends:end of Spring Semester 2013and upon satisfactory performance may continue in to 2013-14 academic year.

Work Schedule: 10-15 hours per week (arranged in consultation with supervisor predominately during office hours 8-4:30 pm Monday-Friday) Position housed in 240 Appleby Hall on Minneapolis East Bank.

The Community Service-Learning Center (CSLC), along with its partner office of Off-Campus Study, coordinates University-wide resources for community service-learning and domestic off-campus study programs. We have a project-oriented and team management approach to accomplishing our work.

The Community Service-Learning portion of the office (1) provides support to departments and faculty teaching courses throughout the Twin Cities campus with community-based learning components; (2) cultivates and maintains partnerships with local community organizations; (3) supports co-curricular community-based learning by advising students on community involvement opportunities and provides opportunities for student leadership; (4) designs and implements a pre-entry orientation and training curriculum for students involved in service-learning courses and in co-curricular programs and (5) coordinates the Community Engagement Scholars Program (CESP) which provides official University recognition for students who make a serious commitment to the greater community.Additional information is available at

Position Responsibilities:

1)Manage databases and organize student information.

2)Compile reports on student progress in the program.

3)Communicate with Community Engagement Scholars participants about program status.

Approximate Breakdown of Responsibilities:

70% - Maintain, organize and compile data regarding student progress, community partner organizations and program requirements.

20% - Communicate with program stakeholders about data.

10%- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Must be detail oriented, motivated, able to take initiative and problem-solve.

-Good computer skills, writing, organizational and time management skills required.

- Comfort/expertise with Microsoft Excel

- Experience as a student or TA with Moodle online course management system and PeopleSoft a plus.

-Participation in a service-learning course(s) a plus.
