I respect my students and have faith in their abilities and behavior, so please show me the same respect by following my rules, paying attention, and giving me your best effort. Together we can succeed, but it takes more than just me to make that happen.
· The most important thing is Show Respect. If the teacher or another student is talking, do not talk. Raise your hand if you have a question or would like to contribute.
· No cell phones or electronic devices allowed out unless specifically instructed
· Use of translators like Google Translate are strictly prohibited and use of one will result in a zero for the assignment
· Make sure that you are prepared when you come to class. You are to have a pencil, paper, textbook, and any other materials that I’ve asked you to bring.
· Stay in your seat unless given permission
· No food allowed in the classroom. Exceptions will also be made on special food days. Drinks must have a lid on them.
· Make sure to follow directions and requests made the teacher
· Follow the Anderson County High School’s Student Handbook.
· Follow all classroom procedures
Tardies
You are tardy if you are not in the room by the time the last bell rings!!! If you are tardy to class you need a note from a teacher/administrator or a tardy referral will be turned into the office. Give the note to the teacher upon your arrival. Remember that the school tardy policy will be applied, which means one tardy per semester. NOT ONE TARDY PER CLASS.
Make-up Work Policy for Absences:
If you have been absent it will be your responsibility to check first with your absentee partner or with Mr. McClain if your partner cannot help. Each agenda/snapshot will be posted on my webpage for a week, so if you are absent you may also check there to see what you missed. YOU MUST ASK ME as I may not remember to tell you!!!
Late Work Policy:
Class assignments are due at the beginning of class on the due date of a particular assignment. Any work submitted after that time will incur a 10% deduction for everyday up to 3 days, after which the work will no longer be accepted.
Additional Notes
· I have books for checkout in the classroom. I allow book checkout at any time, but be aware that you are responsible for it, treat it better than you would a library book. Any loss or damage will result in the cost of the book.
· Passes out of class are to be used only in the case of emergency. No passes out will be granted in the first 10 minutes or the last 10 minutes of class per school policy. Passes out are limited, so use sparingly.
· Quiet or Attention Signal-I will raise my hand and count from one to five. Once you see my hand raised, you should raise yours as well. By the time I get to five you should have stopped talking and have your hand raised.
· The best means to contact me will be through email. I’m teaching at the Middle School and High school, so email reaches me the quickest.
****Lastly, I will be using text messages as means of sending out reminders and information. If you and child would like to receive these alerts, please text @ACHSAPFR-12 to (480)-685-5639****
