I.  New Business

A.  Fall Event. Commission would like to do this event again this fall. In the Spring, Mary will put it in the newsletter.

B.  Bike Brochure. Tabled

C.  Dunn Heritage update. Mary and Don spoke to Hardy about the permits for the culverts. Not completed yet. Ben has been working on the other permits that will be needed. Mary will send update to commissioners. Don reported that he would still like to burn two large piles of brush. One near the lake and the other near the woods. Footing places will be given to Jay in the Spring for the sign. Mary will write in the newsletter the need for more volunteers to help with the restoration. Discussed a meeting with Jay, Ben, Hardy and Don to solidify a time line, goals and priorities to get things done before the deadline. The parks commission wants the launch at the pond due to the terrain, accessibility, and distance from the parking area.

The following would be implemented.

·  Trail Improvements

·  Non-motorized boat launch

·  Picnic area in wooded section

·  Habitat restoration

·  Culvert and bridges

·  Parking

·  Signage improvements

·  Shoreline restoration

D.  Spartan Hills Park update. 90% completed. Hopefully finished this spring or summer.

E.  Arbor Day Celebration. Saturday April 25, 2015. Phyllis Hasbrouck will receive the 2015 Stewardship Award for Preserving Lake Waubesa. She has been a strong advocate of careful planning to preserve Lake Waubesa. Also the Parks Commission will provide brat and hot dogs and Don will bring his large grill for the potluck. Along with the beverages, plates, napkins, and utensils. Recipients of the prizes given out have to be present to win and one prize per person. Tom Shepherd will talk to the owners of Blue Moon about talking to residents about their CSA and or ecology. If they are not able to come Don will talk to a friend from the Audubon society about someone talking to us from there.

F.  Update on Park Grant - Tabled.

G.  Discussion on the property owned by the town adjacent to Charlie Wittleder in Dunnwood Heights. The commission did not see how this would benefit the town. The homeowner express a desire to put up a storage building and that is why he wanted the extra property by doing a lot line adjustment.

Motion: Ende-Murphy/Schmidt to decline the offer of purchase from Charlie Wittleder to purchase a portion of Town owned property on Dunnwood Way. Carried.

Motion to adjourn: Shepherd/Schmidt to adjourn. Carried.

Respectively submitted,

Tracey Nelson

Parks Secretary
