Hospice North Shore

Full Time 1.0 FTE – 40 hours per week
Location: Based at 7 Shea Terrace, Takapuna, Auckland 0622
Primary Objective:
The Fundraising Assistant – Events will assist the Fundraiser - Events to coordinate and implement designated Hospice events with the support of the Fundraising Manager and the wider team.
He/She works as a member of the Fundraising team and contributes towards meeting the following business objectives:

2. Improve patient and family/whanau experience and safety
3. Community and Collaboration – to develop a whole system approach
4. Wise stewardship and improved sustainability

Fundraising Support & Teamwork
a) Provides administrative support to the Fundraising Assistant and Fundraising Manager as required
b) Provides back up to wider Fundraising Team as appropriate
c) Maintains accurate and up-to-date supporter records on the fundraising database and filing system
Events Administration & Support
a) Researches and develops accurate mailing lists and the collation of information to support fundraising events
b) Assists Fundraising Assistant and Fundraising Manager with the organisation and coordination of events
c) Maintains key relationships with event sponsors, partners and Hospice supporters including volunteers
d) Ensures timely and appropriate acknowledgements are planned and operationalised
Supporter Care
a) Delivers a high standard of supporter care, including responding to donor correspondence and queries
b) Maintains the supporter database as appropriate
Communication
a) Is aware of current service issues, current activities and organisation wide information
b) Develops and maintains strong professional relationships with key personnel internal and external to HNS
Professional Development / Training
a) Identifies own educational and professional development needs and works with Manager and Education team to source training that meets those needs
b) Ensures on-going personal development through completion and implementation of a personal annual performance and development plan

a) Supports the Quality Committee to maintain the Hospice North Shore and Warkworth/Wellsford Quality Programme

Exception Reporting and Critical Events
a) Ensures that all incidents, accidents, hazards, near misses and service enquiries are immediately and appropriately reported
b) Works with Line Manager to identify any corrective actions required in relation to quality service issues relating to own sphere of work

a) Complies with and contributes to Health and Safety systems and Emergency procedures in place throughout organisation
b) Assesses risk and minimises threat to personal safety

a) Ensures that all organisational projects use HNS methodology and are regularly reported on and supported
b) Participates in ensuring local and national initiatives that promote Hospice services are followed through

a) Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with other Hospice Fundraisers in the region and attends regular meetings to exchange information and ideas

Essential / Desirable· Tertiary Qualification in communication, business, marketing, commerce or similar
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
· Excellent and expressive written and spoken English
· Confident communicator who is comfortable conducting cold calls, soliciting gifts and other donor engagement activities
· Strong online and paper based research skills
· Ability to effectively structure information

· Up-to-date computer skills and ability to learn and adapt to new software quickly and easily: MS office suite, internet use
