Position: Meeting and Event Executive
Department: Conference and BanquetingHours: 40/week (may vary depending on business needs)
Responsible to: Operations Manager
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are looking to recruit an experienced and driven Meeting & Event Executive to work alongside the existing Conference & Banqueting Team and Operations Team to drive Conference & Banqueting sales across the membership and non-membership (Trading Company) areas of the Club, increasing repeat member business and encouraging new corporate business as we head towards our centenary year. This is an exceptional opportunity to be involved with a prestigious and historic private members’ Club at a key time in its history.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SKILLS:
- Effective organizational skills
- Multitasking skills, ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge of OPERA software (Function sheet)
- Good knowledge and passion for food and beverage
- Good written and verbal English
- Liaise with members and clients to identify their needs and to high ensure customer satisfaction
- Creating sales opportunities for future events during members liaisons and during events, including possessing a strong working knowledge of the company to further these sales opportunities
- Identify new markets and business opportunities and increase sales (trading company)
- Represent the Royal Air Force Club at various events and exhibitions
- Driving member/customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each member/customer experience
- Acquiring and developing allrelationships and preparing sales proposals for members/clients.
- Closely following up on all business leads within a 24 hour response time to potential new clients
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new member/customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertaining potential clients, trade shows, etc.
- Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Attending all departmental meetings where required
- Work closely with Operations Manager to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the Club.
- Improve and maintain open, collaborative team-working relationships amongst Conference and Banqueting staff.
- Attend and participate in monthly departmental meetings, daily meetings and group staff Cover shifts as per rota.
- Attend function sheet weekly meetings
- To take on Lobby Host shifts when requested
- Awareness & adherence to policies & procedures in the staff handbook, & in particular with regards to Health and Safety, fire, anti-terrorism regulations and relevant legislation in these areas.
