I hereby acknowledge having read the Fourth of July Parade Regulations (See Below) and agree to abide by the Parade Regulations and any instructions given by Parade officials.
Furthermore, I understand that failure to comply with the Parade Regulations could result in:
1. Immediate removal from the parade line-up and forfeiture of any entry fee.
2. Prohibition from entering future Fourth of July Parades.
3. Possible fines from the City of Harbor Springs

FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
Date/Time: July 4th of the given year
Line up begins at 11:00 am. The parade will start at 1:00 pm sharp
Location: Parade will start and end at the City Administration Buildings
located on Zoll St., move west on Main Street, south on State
Street and then east on Bay Street back to the starting point.
Entry Fees: Non-profit organizations: Free ($10 for Non-Chamber Members)
Commercial entities: $110 per vehicle entered
Political candidates: $150
All Other entries: $30
Veterans: Free!
REGULATIONS FOR FOURTH OF JULY PARADE
1. Parade Line Up and Parade Order are done at the discretion of the Parade Officials
2. Entrants are encouraged to keep a tight formation, maintaining safe distances between each other and safe speeds. Avoid quick accelerations at all times.
3. Parade Marshalls and police will monitor flow and direct entrants to keep parade orderly and moving smoothly to eliminate parade gaps and lulls.
4. All parade entries must be decorated with a PATRIOTIC THEME ONLY
5. “No tossing out of items of any kind from parade entrants…INCLUDING
CANDY. If an entrant wishes to distribute any items, they must have
someone walking along side the vehicle, float, etc. to hand items to people in
the crowd.”
6. NO driven motorcycle entries
7. One vehicle/float per entry
8. Equestrian entries are allowed with an understanding that the Chamber cannot guarantee appropriate crowd behavior around horses. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the entrant to:
A. Ensure horses will not put spectators at risk;
B. Use only horses that respond well to excessive crowds and noise;
C. Provide adequate support staff to accompany the entrant and horses (including pooper scoopers)
9. Adequate Safety Chains must be used on all towed entries. Any entry deemed unsafe
by parade officials will not be allowed to participate.
10. Adequate vision must be preserved for drivers
11. No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed by parade participants. Those consuming
alcohol will be in violation of traffic laws and will be subject to prosecution
12. Solicitations for donations during the parade are prohibited
13. Parade officials have the right to remove from the parade line-up any entry that:
A. Is not conforming to the written regulations.
B. Refuses to comply with directions from the parade officials
C. Is deemed unsafe to either participants or those observing the parade.
