Senior Iron Lung Draft League

2007-2008 Season

Two Divisions

30 & Older * 40 & Older

This league promotes friendly yet competitive hockey games and very few penalties. You must be 30 or 40 as of the first day of a session to play. The 30+ league consists of eight teams with a maximum of 15 skaters and one goalie per team. A total of 15 games are possible: 12 games plus all teams make the playoffs. The 40 + league consists of four teams with a maximum of 15 skaters and one goalie per team. A total of 14 games are possible: 12 games plus all teams make the playoffs.

The schedule is designed so players 40 and older may play in both leagues as leagues do not play on the same evenings.

Games are 3 twenty minute running time periods with a stop clock during the last two minutes of the third period if a game is within two goals. Regular-season games ending in a tie feature a five-minute sudden death overtime. Winners earn two points, and teams losing in overtime earn one point. The winning team’s players receive championship t-shirts.

Special League Rule

Any player who earns 18 minutes in penalties in a 12 game season and playoffs will receive a one game suspension. Once returning from suspension, if this player receives an additional 6 minutes in penalties, he/she shall be suspended from play in that season and the next. No refunds will be given to any player who is suspended from play in the league.
