The start/finish line for the March for Babies is once again at “The Square” (corners of Trade and Tryon Streets) in Uptown Charlotte. Festivitiesregistration begins at 9am, and the walk starts at 10am.

Below are frequently asked questions regarding the walk:

1) If I just signed up online, can I continue to raise money after the walk on April 28th? Absolutely, yes! Fundraising continues through the end of the year.However, for team awards and gift card incentives, all money should be turned in by June 1.

2) Where should I send cash and checks that I receive after the walk?

Please send to the local March of Dimes office at the address below. And, please note which team or individual walker the money should be credited to so that we apply correctly in our system.

3) My company has a matching gift program. How do I participate in that?

Please contact your payroll or HR department to get the necessary forms.

4) Where is registration and do I need to check in?

Registration is located in the lobby of Founders Hall, which is on the lower level of the Bank of America Corporate Center in uptown Charlotte. You only need to check in if you have money to turn in and/or of you qualify for the 2012March for Babies T-shirt. (see below).

5) I raised over $200.00 – how do I get my free 2012March for Babies T-shirt?

Come to the registration area in Founders Hall and show your online form or turn in your cash\checks. Staff will verify and give you a ticket to pick up your t-shirt.

6) How do I print out my online form?

  • Go to your home page on
  • Click on “Printable Sponsorship Form” on the right hand side
  • Don’t forget to include cash/check donations
  • Bring that form with you on walk day and check in at Founders Hall.

7) What are some of the walk day activities?

Dance teams, a DJ, bounce houses, step team, local mascots, drum-line, T-shirt contest winner announced, FedEx/March of Dimes show car, National Anthem and count down!

8) Where should I park?

This year, the EpiCentre and Preferred Parking is offering complimentary parking to March for Babies supporters in theEpiCentre parking garage only. They have over 1,200 spaces available and the garage can be accessed from either 4th Street or Trade Street in Uptown Charlotte. It is first come/first served and walkers are requested to be out of the lot by 1:00pm on walk day. For additional parking options in Uptown, please click here.

9)I’m the team captain. What should I do on walk day?

Please come to registration, check in your team and drop off any money you have. Team members do not have to check in unless they have money to turn in.

10) How does my team find one another?

We highly recommend that each team captain make a sign with your team name and hold it up high at “The Square” so teammates can find each other. Or, determine a meeting place before the day of the walk.

11) What happens if there is an accident?

We’ll have police officers along the route that can assist with any problems.

12) What happens if I just can’t walk anymore?

No problem.We’ll have a van following the walkers that will take you back to the start/finish line.

13) Are bathrooms available?

Yes, we will have porta-jons located near the main stage and halfway through the walk route.

14) What happens after the walk?

We’llhave light snacks and drinks available for all walkers.

15) How far is the walk route?

The route is approximately 3.5 miles through uptown Charlotte, Wesley Heights, and Frazier Park.See below for the exact walk route.

16) What if it rains?

We walk rain or shine, so please prepare accordingly (and cross your fingers for shine!)

West on Trade to Graham – Go Left.

South on Graham to 4th Street – Go Right.

West on 4th Street to Walnut – Go Left.

South on Walnut to Litaker – Go Left.

Litaker along the Greenway to backside of Frazier Park.

Through Frazier Park, over bridge, right onto Greenleaf.

Up Greenleaf to Cedar – Go Left.
