PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL - February 20th21st
Presider:
Let us pray to our loving God, who is our light and our salvation, as we cry out, Lord, hear our prayer.
Lector:
1. For Christians throughout the world enduring persecution for their faith, that they will be inspired and heartened by the Lord’s transfiguration…
For world leaders, that they hear the voice of the chosen Son of God and heed him by following ways of peace and benevolence…
For all those whose faith wavers, who need reassurance and hope in their times of darkness…
For all those who lack the daily bread they need to live…
For the hungry, the homeless, all those in need among us; and for the intentions in our parish book…in this time of hope and mercy, we pray....
2. For our brothers and sisters who are ill: ...... especially Maria Moran-Sullivan, Fr. G.P. Pezzi, Kathleen Harris, Laurel Hessing, Diane Shapiro, Marguerite LaMarque, Eddie Nieves, Mary de Viray, Fr. Jason Anchanickal, Val Maxey, Joseph Kearney, Louise Ullman… and all those wounded in the service of our country,..... that they be patient in their time of suffering and soon come to the fullness of health.... in this time of hope and mercy, we pray....
3. For those who have died, whose memories are with us at this time:

4.And let us pause now to present our own personal petitions...(PAUSE ....count to 10)...... We are still a nation at war, let us pray for our president, our elected officials, the members of our diplomatic corps(core) and all those who serve our country in our uniformed services..... may their efforts for peace and justice be fruitful;..... together, let us raise our voices in a prayer for true and lasting peace......
