Proyecto de “Un día en la vida de….

OBJECTIVE: Students will use vocabulary and grammar learned last year and reviewed this year, to create a book or video about a typical day in their lives, to present to the class.

ASSIGNMENT: You will write a story in which you describe a typical day in your life, from morning until night. Your story will include:

¨  The title “Un día en la vida de ______(your name)”

¨  At least 10 sentences about the activities of yourself, your friends, and your family members throughout the day.

¨  At least 10 activities pictured or demonstrated; for example, if you write about brushing your teeth, you might draw a picture yourself holding a toothbrush, import clip art of a toothbrush, or videotape yourself brushing your teeth.

FORMAT: You have two choices for your format.

Book

·  At least 10 illustrated pages.
·  Illustrate with LARGE pictures that you draw, cut out, or produce on the computer. Cut-out materials must be glued down well around the edges not look messy.
·  Your book must be bound in some way, such as 3-prong folder; the cover must be decorated.
·  Your title, name, Español 3, date (in Spanish), período ___, on the cover.
·  Make sure that your pages can be turned in such a way that you can easily read it to the class while still showing the pictures. Practice reading the book so it is not awkward. /

Video

·  Demonstrations of at least 10 different activities.
·  Use props and film it at your house. Your video must show you for most activities, but another person may act out the sentences that are about somebody else.
·  Use sound effects, wardrobe changes, other family members or friends, etc. to add interest to your video.
·  Your title, name, Español 3, date (in Spanish), período ___, on a poster at the beginning.
·  You should narrate the video, describing each activity either immediately before or after it is demonstrated. Make sure that your speaking is loud and clear on the video.
·  Must be on full-size video or Compact video that goes in adapter

GUIDELINES:

¨  Each of the 10 sentences must be at least 6 words long. No one-syllable words may count toward the 5 word requirement.

¨  Include the following structures: at least 10 reflexive verbs, 3 irregular verbs, and 2 “tener ” expressions (hambre, sed, frío, calor, prisa…). At least 3 sentences should be about somebody else.

¨  Write logically about your day, putting events in order. Remember to write in Spanish, not in English to translate into Spanish. Think of what you know how to say. KEEP IT SIMPLE. You may use a dictionary for occasional words, but do not overdo it. DO NOT USE TRANSLATING DEVICES, SOFTWARE, WEBSITES, OR NATIVE SPEAKERS; this is considered CHEATING. If I see evidence that you have used any of the above (and believe me, I can tell), you will receive a 0 on the project until you come after school to write your text in my presence. If that happens, you will have to write about different experiences and events from the ones you originally wrote about.

¨  You must turn a rough draft of your TEXT ONLY, written neatly every other line, or typed in at least 12 font with double spacing. Your draft must have the grammatical structures color-coded. Make a code, and either underline or highlight grammatical points (the structures underlined under above) in paragraph. Make sure your code is also on your paper. This will help you to have correct spelling and grammar. The rough draft is due ______.

¨  Final project is due ______.

GRADE: This will count as a major grade. Factors for grading will be: correct spelling and grammar, neatness, completeness (include all the items listed above), creativity.
