In 07-08, the CLAS curriculum committee processed just over 130 course proposals, program changes, and final plans through the month of March.

The committee also discussed policy issues that impact curriculum and teaching such as student evaluations and course repeats, advised the Dean on various prospecti, collaborated with the UCC in the continued refinement of the online submission system, and expedited the prerequisite “fast track” review. The committee advocated, in Fall 07, on behalf of CLAS to activate the Banner prerequisite review system for course registration. The prerequisite fast track review system was reactivated in Winter 08 and this review process has demanded a substantial amount of time to expedite the revisions needed to make the inaugural Banner registration as smooth as possible. As a result of the implementation, many permits and prerequisites were discovered to need either curricular or administrative approval for change, all of which were processed by the chair of CCC.

In the upcoming year, we will continue to review submissions, discuss policy, and collaborate with UCC on all curricular issues.
