Tip for Building a List on Facebook

This is meant as a guide to save you from some of the frustration many have experienced.

The social media platform is designed for relationship building with friends. It is not meant to be a place for marketers to spam or blast on people’s pages to buy product or join my business. The software will target specific activity and shut people off when they

“Do Things” that are not designed for the platform you are using.

If you remember this philosophy you will be ahead of the game. It is a fabulous way to meet people and make friends. This is a great way to establish relationships using your computer or mobile device wherever you are and at whatever time you want. This is why it is bigger, better, faster, and easier. You can reach so many more people in a much shorter period of time.

Just like the OLD WAY, we do not want to “throw up” all over a potential prospect and say too much. We are using our old technique and blending those techniques with some new ones.

The friends you make or already have on Facebook are your resource list for your business. In order to be successful it is best to have at least 400 in your list.

So how do you make friends at a fast rate without flagging the software and getting shut down?

Facebook is based on ratios. If you have sent out a large amount of friend requests and the friends you have requested to accept your request do not go online daily, that request will sit in a little bank and your banks begin to add up. If you have a huge amount of potential friend requests sitting in the bank with out acceptance that makes the Facebook software think that maybe you are not really acquainted with this person and you may be just trying to build a list.

So how do you get around this??????

#1)

You will be more successful when you use permission requesting.

Go to the profile page of the person you wish to befriend.

In the upper right hand corner of the page most people will allow you to send them a message without being their friend. If they have not enabled that feature FIND ANOTHER PERSON. This is key for fast list building.

Send that person a message explaining why you would like to become friends.

Here are some examples:

Hi ”Joe” I noticed you on the “X Chamber” fanpage. I am also a business owner and

Love to connect with like minded people. Would it be ok if I send over a friend request?

Thanks “your name”

Hi “Joe” I love “whatever craft, activity, sport, book, club, etc.” too. I am hoping to connect with other people who enjoy “state the activity” and noticed you on “state the fanpage or group here”. Would it be ok if I sent you over a friend request.

Thanks “your name”

More often than not you will get the response SURE or they will go ahead and send you a friend request themselves. This is also a great pre-qualifier for people who are not afraid to NETWORK with like minded people.

This is a sample using Joe’s page…see the send message button to the left of the red arrow. You can send him a message without being a friend. Followed this technique will save you the agony of getting shut off. I cannot stress this enough. Take the time to do it this way for people who do not know you.

You can also build a list by join a group or a fan page which then opens up a door to the other people on that page. The concept described above can also be used on pages or groups to find people.( For ex. a chamber page shown below.) Anyone can join this page.

You then read some interesting posts and use the technique above to send a message requesting if it is ok to send over that friend request.

The red arrow below shows a post from someone and you can then click on the blue highlighted name to go to that persons page.

Once you are on the fan page you can then go directly to the persons page by clicking on the blue link and you will see below that again just like in the example with Joe you can send that person a private message without needing to be a friend. If you do NOT SEE a send message button then find another person.

We have over 3,000 affiliate stores. You can also become fans of those pages and send a message to a fan of that page without needing to be a friend regarding our cashback program. When using this technique do not send a message to more than 3 from that page a day especially if you are including the link to your portal.

If you look below at the fan page New Egg there is a customer who is purchasing a computer from them for the first time. You can click on their name go to their page and send them a message like this.

Hi Yannick

I noticed your post on New Egg. I love that store. Curious what computer you purchased, my son is a big gamer? I enjoy shopping online and find it so exciting with all the options for great deals. I have included a link on a way to shop from New Egg and earn cashback just by ordering through this link, I use it for all my online shopping. Thought I would pass it along. Enjoy the savings.

Put the link here in the message BUT DO NOT ATTATCH IT AS A LINK THIS WILL
FLAG THE SOFTWARE if you do this many times on the same page or day.

These first 3 tips should help you get well on your way to adding 5 a day (or more in the beginning if you are not yet at 400+) and have you targeting the add 5 a day criteria for the cyber fast track team.

We will continue this knowledge building process from week to week and I encourage you to share your successes as well as your challenges with myself and the team. This is how we can get good skills that work to share with the field!

To your Success
