JOB TITLE: Social Hub Lead

RESPONSIBLE TO: Project Manager

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

JOB PURPOSE: Support the formation of and lead activities within, Social Hubs

JOB SUMMARY

·  The post holder will oversee the Social Hub programme, supporting the formation of Social Hub Groups, providing social, cultural, creative and recreational activities for Social Hub members in the local community.

·  The postholder will be responsible for the supervision, training and mentoring of peers and volunteers.

·  Support the marketing strategy, via campaigns and a range of media methods and material.

·  Monitor all service activity, to ensure service requirements and quality levels are met and improved.

·  The post requires a user-led, multi-disciplinary and collaborative working approach with professionals, statutory agencies and voluntary organisations.

JOB ROLE – Key accountabilities

1.  To manage and oversee a user-led programme of group activities in order to maintain and improve social, leisure, cultural, recreational, creative, communication, educational, and vocational skills.

2.  Seek out opportunities to develop and expand the service within the locality.

3.  Oversee the organisation of training sessions and supervisions to support peers and volunteers.

4.  Design a range of activities to enable service users to overcome barriers to social interaction and take responsibility for social lives and improve well-being.

5.  Support the marketing strategy, campaigns and fundraising events. Produce relevant promotion and media material i.e. leaflets, posters and press releases and word of mouth in order to highlight the benefits of the Social Hub.

6.  Work with appropriate organisations in order to build, develop and maintain referral pathways into the service. Including organising drop-in sessions to promote and navigate people into the service.

7.  Ensure co-produced recovery plans are developed for 1:1 support.

8.  Organise the production and use of self-directed support for clients.

9.  Ensure that the organisation gathers all required data, to demonstrate performance against targets.

10. Ensure that the data is processed in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

11. The job holder needs to be aware of his her obligations in respect of Information Governance (IG). This may include acting as the Information Asset Administrator within the Internal IG structure. This encompasses ensuring that policies and procedures are followed and recognising potential or actual security incidents.

12. Monitor all activity within the service to ensure it meets the required level of activity.

13. Support the ISO Quality Management System, by leading service audits and taking a range of other measures designed to continuously improve the service.

14. Support and initiate measures under the ISO Environmental Management System, in order to minimise the Service’s carbon footprint.

15. Ensure safe and secure environment, performing risk assessments when necessary.

16. Effectively manage the full caseload of Social Hub service users, ensuring all receive a high quality standard of care.

17. Promote independence and social integration at all times.

18. Help to promote and market the ‘Wolverhampton Social Hub’.

19. To work in a non-discriminatory, social inclusive manner. Endeavour to break down any barriers or stigma that may inhibit an individual’s progress within the service.

20. Continue to develop and expand knowledge to maintain/increase effectiveness in this role. Receive supervision and case management to maintain best practice.

21. Work with minimal supervision taking responsibility for managing own time and diary.

22. Provide both regular and ad hoc reports to management.

23. To ensure adherence to all policies, procedures and local and national guidelines.
