AUDIO-TECHNICA EXPANDS ITS EXTENSIVE RANGE OF

BOUNDARY MICROPHONES WITH THE AT891R/C

•1•

INFOCOMM, ORLANDO, FL, June 3, 2003 — Audio-Technica is exhibiting the AT891R/C Unidirectional Condenser Boundary Microphone designed for surface-mount applications in fixed installation, broadcast, professional recording, and sound reinforcement. Its small size makes the AT891R/C suitable for use in applications where minimum visibility is required.

Featuring an ultra-quiet touch pad switch, the AT891R/C offers two choices of switching modes, Local or Remote. In Local mode, the touch pad switch controls the mic, offering one of three settings: touch-on/touch off, touch-to-talk, and touch-to-mute. In the Remote mode, the touch pad switch acts as a separate contact closure for interfacing the AT891R/C with external devices, independent of the microphone. An LED is supplied on the unit to indicate when the microphone is “on.”

The AT891R/C provides distortion-free signal in even the most demanding situations, offers an extremely smooth frequency response, and comes with a switchable 80 Hz hi-pass filter. Featuring a low-profile design (2.87" x 4.33" x 0.85") and enclosed in a rugged housing, the AT891R/C is available in a low-reflective matte black finish. A specially designed non-slip rubber bottom pad minimizes mechanical coupling of surface vibrations to the microphone. Included with the AT891R/C is a 20' shielded cable with a TA3F input connector to XLRM-type output connection. In addition, the output cable can be configured for either back- or bottom-of-mic positioning, allowing further flexibility for demanding applications such as boardrooms, council chambers, courtrooms, and places of worship.

The AT891R/C comes with a protective soft pouch; it is currently available with a suggested retail price of $300.00.
